Frozen in time- Zuko x reader

Chapter 4

I sat there looking at both men sitting up, unbothered to show much emotion on my face." My name is Y/n L/n and I was born 9853 BG."

Shocked imprinted itself across both their faces." that would make you-"

"over 9000 years old." I said in their stead they looked at me mesmerised and listened intently to what I had to say." I've travelled with Wa- the first avatar as you would call it." I assumed as one of their servants referred to Aang as Avatar which was a name that people on started to call Wan in out time

to collect the four elements because of this and my friendship with various spirits I had collected five bending abilities energy, water, earth, fire and air,"both men's eyes widened as I listed of the element one by one."then Wan and I were fighting with the dragon bird spirit Garriff, who was corrupted by the evil war spirit, the only way that I could save both Wan and Garriff was to freeze Garriff and I in ice."

" what you didn't know you would be frozen for 9000 years." The scarred man interjected. I nodded.

"And you had become a second avatar in the process." blue arrowed man said looking down, evade eye contact with me." Along with the original." I sharply exhaled at having my situation being spelled out so plainly.

"Mine and Wan, my partner's mission was to obtain all four element and defeat Vattu." I chuckled darkly at where my mission left me, alone. I turned to Aang from whom I felt the remnant that is Wan's soul." And when I saw you Aang I saw remnants of Wan's spirit and I can see from your energy you are a good person, someone who I could trust." I said earnestly.

"I'm so sorry Y/n" He whispered.

"it's okay I can feel, it's not your fault, but mine. But I would like to thank you because for certain,I know that Wan was successful and his presence can still be felt." I gave them both a reassuring smile. "I'm reassured that our mission was concluded." The atmosphere in the room quickly became heavy as they both saw the despair in my predicament." I just don't know what my mission should now be since it's now succeded."

"Y/n I don't want to dampen your spirits but, the lineage and the duties of the avatar has always been prevelant and now, we are trying to build a new city. A republic for any bender across the word and for the mean time it would be an honour to assist you in this new time." he said comfortingly putting a hand over mine.

tears started to well up in my eyes as I looked into his eyes. "Thank you." I whispered.

Timeskip to the next day

I'd woke up the next morning barely believing that I was in a new era. I started to walked around to find a small pond of koi fish in the foyer their energy illuminated the water as ripple of light streams leaked of them reminding me of my spirit friends back at home. I looked up to see the man with the scar on his face. I gave him a smile and invited him to sit with me. " I'm sorry but I don't think that I caught your name last night."

"My name is fire lord Zuko"

" lord huh, impressive." I smiled.

A light brush flutterd over his face." Just Zuko would be fine."

"Okay 'just Zuko' my name is Y/n" I said whilst holding out my hand for him to shake." Is this still a thing or am I just that far behind the times." I grinned.

he hurriedly caught his hand in mine in a moment of brief, admittedly cute awkwardness." I-I apologise, yes hand shaking when greeting another human is still costumry." He blabbered.

A smile crossed my face." you seem to be in a rush do you mind mine asking of where your going?"

"I was going to meet with the united republic council."

"well im curious of this new era so I'll come with ,I'd like to meet people to have a gage of leadership. If you don't mind?"

"No not at all."
The leader of what I learnt the nation's of this era. From what Zuko told me the Earth king leader and the northern and Southern cheifs for fire and air there was Zuko and Aang. The southern water tribe leader was however accompanied with a young man a bit older than me with the sides of his head shaved off with some hair growing on his chin standing next to this beautiful girl with a tanned complexion and blue eyes.

As we approached the girl looked between me and Zuko incredulously." Katara, Sokka this is Y/n." He gestured toward me. I meekly waved my hand at them.

She only nodded and smiled at me." I have a good feeling about you y/n"

"Well nice to meet." He said a bit solemnly before tears poured out of his eyes.

"Did Suki and Sokka actually broke up again." He said looking at Katara nodded.

"We did." He exclaimed as he descended deeper into despair.

"That's rough buddy." Zuko said whilst patting his back.

"It really is rough." He said blinking as not to let tears escape from his bloodshot eyes.
They sat on the table as I stood next to Katara and Sokka. It was interesting as when I sensed an energy that meant to do harm when I saw a fire bender aim for Zuko.

I ran in front of him. Everyone was confused to what I was doing except from Aang who new exactly what was happening. The man shot a ray of lightening at Zuko and I but it was easy to redirect it. I concentrated and absorbed most of the chi as to lessen it's impact as I used energy bending to find a good point on the offender boys and then I redirected the lightening at him luckily I was able to get him temporarily chi blocked.

I heard a sudden round of applause from the unwanted audience as I felt my face go red. I looked over to Zuko who just had a smirk plastered on his face.
