I jolt awake in my bed filled with panic. I don't know why; I could sense that there was something was wrong. Panicked, I check the clock on my phone.
"6:17. Okay, then."
I sink back into my bed in relief. That's when it hits me, I'm starting at a different high school today; we had to move since my mom and dad got a divorce. I'm filled with another wave of panic as I realize that I have no friends to talk to.
With that in mind I get dressed. I don't put much effort into what I wear because it won't even matter in the long run unless I'm going to keep it up every day. I'm not about to become "Mr. Proper. " I'm not about living that kind of life. By the time that I'm dressed and ready to head downstairs it's already 6:45 and I have to leave to catch the bus by 6:58. I grab an orange from the kitchen and walk out the door. As I head out the door my mother calls out after me.
"Have a good day at school honey, maybe you will even meet a cute girl... or boy."
"Mom!" I shout in shock. She replies with a shrug as I shut the front door. When I arrive at my bus stop there were already four people. I walk up behind them.
