"Marc, remember, come home straight after school," Susanna ordered. "Dad and I will be at work and we'll come home a little later than usual today."
Marc nodded at his mom as he stepped out of the door. "Got it."
"Have a good day at school, and watch for those akumas!" Marcus shouted to his son.
"You too dad," Marc shouted in reply, trying to sound as enthusiastic as he could. How was he supposed to explain to Nath that they can't make any more editions of their book? He'd be devastated. Marc was thinking throughout the bus ride of a way to break the news to him, but couldn't. He decided he'd tell him when the time came.
"Hey, Marc!"
Marc looked up at voice coming from the back of the classroom when he entered. It was Nathaniel. He gave him his best smile as he walked up the steps to his seat beside him. "Heyyyy~"
"So I drew sketches for Lady WiFi and Rogercop last night, we could incorporate those two into the story, any ideas?" Nathaniel began taking out his sketches to show them to Marc.
Marc looked through them, impressed, as always, with his artistic ability. "Nath, these look great!" He replied. A smile formed on its own. He could do so much with Lady WiFi and Rogercop, he can't wait to start planning!
His smile faded when he remembered that he wasn't going to Art Club today, or ever. In a few weeks probably he would be leaving the school."Are you... okay?" Nathaniel asked, noticing his change in mood.
Marc nodded and internally shook himself. "I'm fine, I'm fine. There's something I have to tell you, though..." He had to break the news to Nathaniel sooner or later, and he might as well do it now. "I'm n-"
"Good morning class!" Miss Bustier strode into the room with a genuine smile on her face, as always.
"Today we will be learning about..."Marc turned away from Nathaniel. "I'll tell you later," he whispered. Class was starting, it could wait. He had till the end of the school day anyway, plenty of time!
The final class of the day, Ms. Mendeleiev's class, was beginning. Marc hadn't explained to Nathaniel that he could not stay after school anymore.
He knew he had to after this class, and it broke his heart to imagine his reaction. He really didn't want to do this, but he had no choice. It's what his parents said.
Marc's thoughts were interrupted by several alarm noises from around the room. Every phone in the room had an AKUMA ALERT on it. It rang whenever there was a new akuma in the city. Murmurs of concern rose within the classroom.
"Alright everyone, calm down, Ladybug and Cat Noir will handle this," Ms. Mendeleiev spat. "Class will continue as normal."
Marinette shyly raised her hand. "Miss Mendeleiev, I really have to go to the bathroom... can I please go?"
The chemistry teacher sighed. "Yes Marinette, you can go. Just hurry back, class is almost over."
Marinette thanked her and rushed out of the classroom.
Adrien also raised his hand. "I actually have to go too, please miss?" he asked.
She nodded in reply. "Go, go," She grumbled impatiently.
