We were hungry once.
Hungry for food, land, power.
And as time passed, the hunger changed us. We learned that those who never take a bite, will never feel full.
How the weak and frightened never lasted. Just ask about what happened to the humans.
As the diseased spread, the humans either turned or died.
Most died.
The world retreated for centuries. A stillness that lasted for years concealed those who wavered between people and animal.
Slowly, like a creature emerging from the ocean's depths, did a new world take shape. A society and culture blazed to life. Cultivated to accommodate the stirrings that now seethed inside the population.
It was no longer a world that focused on humanity.
With the new hunger, came new inhuman compulsions.
Driving those to adopt their heightened instincts. Some had a predisposition to this, genes believed to play apart. Capable of harmonizing more in tuned with the animal within.
Strength became everything.
Strength is everything.
Only the strong and hungry make it to the top.
The Alpha.
