Arc 3: Chapter Five

Lucy sighs as she walks through the halls. Today she'd be meeting with some cops about searching for Natsu and she didn't feel or look so good.

Her hair was a mess, she didn't put in the normal work that she normally did, she threw it up in a ponytail and let it be. Her eyes were red from crying all last night, and she didn't even put on makeup to cover it. Along with all of that, her heart was pounding. When she walked into the room, what if he was dead? What if his body was right there, lifeless...not moving. Dead.

"Lucy!" Calls a voice zapping her out of her trance. There with a few officers was all of Natsu's  family, a Gray, Gajeel, and Jellal, and also a black haired person she never met.

"How are you dear?" Grandine asks immediately engulfing her in a hug. Lucy tries her hardest not to cry but the tears spill out anyway. "Not so good..." she admits. 

"I just want him here to hold me," she mumbles. "Everything will be fine bunny girl, Natsu's a fighter. He won't just leave us like that." Gajeel reassures. 

"You must be Lucy?" The black haired man asks. Lucy nods. "I'm Natsu's older brother, Zeref. I'll be helping search for him." he says.

"Thanks," Lucy says looking at him, now noticing how much him and Natsu looked alike. 

"What did the cops say...?" Lucy asks no one in particular. 

"They found the plane, and apparently it was hijacked, three of his dancers died, the other four are in critical condition. They also said he might've been smushed to where they can't determine who he is..." Igneel decides to answer. 

Lucy can feel herself start to choke up, and she finds herself falling to the ground.

"Calm down Lucy, I understand how you feel but your pregnant remember. Think about how much your stressing yourself out." Gray says, helping her up. 

Lucy calms down, but the crying doesn't cease. She couldn't, and it wouldn't, not until he came back to her.

"I-I think I'm gonna drive home..." she says, changing the subject. 

"You shouldn't drive home like this...we don't need another accident. Come stay at our place for a bit Lucy, we don't want you to be alone either." Grandine says. Lucy decides not to argue back, and decides to leave with Grandine and Wendy, wishing Igneel, Zeref, Gajeel, and Gray luck on searching.

"Wendy, show Lucy to her room, I'll cook all of us a meal." Grandine says. Wendy nods, and ushers for Lucy to follow her.

"You're not the only one who is scared Lucy..." Wendy says starting the conversation. "If Natsu's gone...I-I don't know what I'd do. He's been there for me when mom and dad couldn't, he's the one who taught me everything." Wendy sobs making Lucy's heart clench.

Lucy pulls Wendy into a hug. "It'll be okay...he won't leave us." she says, not only reassuring her but also herself.

"Yeah you're right...this is your room right here. Make yourself comfortable. I'll have one of the maids run you a bath and lay out some fresh clothes."

Lucy nods, and once the maid is done running a bath she hops in, taking comfort in the warm water.

Her hand absentmindedly goes to her stomach and she begins to think about the twins. What if they grew up without a father? How could she raise them by herself?

Lucy lets a few tears slip out before wiping them away. She wouldn't cry until she saw him again, and those would be tears of happiness.

Lucy gets out the tub, drying herself off before putting on the clothes left for her on the bed which was some black shorts and a plain white tank top. The shorts were loose, but fit just fine at her hips. Not feeling like doing her hair, she lets it be as she heads down the stairs.

"You came just in time, I was going to ask if you wanted to help us make cookies!" Wendy cheers.

"I...I'm not the best cook." Lucy says honestly. "Natsu's told us, but don't worry, I'll help you the whole time." Says Grandine. Lucy nods and joins alongside her.

"Wow, I can see how Natsu learned to cook so well." Lucy smiles as she eats the food.

For the rest of the time they make small conversation as they eat. "Lucy, let's make some cookies!" Wendy cheers as she washes out her plate.

"I don't-"

"Dont give me that excuse! I'll help you like mama did. Now come on!" Wendy says pulling Lucy out of the dining room and into the area.

Lucy tries her best alongside Wendy, and the cookies end up fairly well. Wendy's were better still.

While they are cookies Gradine brewed some tea, and they drink that with them too.

Now the only people awake were Grandine and Lucy.

"Your started thinking about him huh?" She asks.

Lucy looks up at her. "Yeah...how'd you know."

"You got quiet," Grandine says sitting beside her.

"I miss him," she sighs.

"We all do." Grandine sighs just as she receives a call.

"Yes, okay. And? We'll be there soon." Grandine says as she looks over to Lucy.

"They found Natsu,"
