The view of the vacuum of space was nothing less of breathtaking. In the center of the Xela system, a yellow dwarf star shine brightly with glory whilst the gas giant Rennoc and the rocky world of Criterion orbited it with grace, whilst thousands of other stars and gas clouds of all colours lined the background.
There was a streak of blue light, and then a few more followed. The streaks of light were in fact colony ships of a Dominion transport convoy exiting hyperspace. They were sleek and blue, loaded with containers that were actually filled with equipment for building the new colony and excited colonists eager to land on the new world, and had the Dominion logo on them-a blue badge with an orange outline and a green UFO in the center. The convoy was protected by hundreds of armed drone interceptors the size of cars, armed to the teeth with lasers and ion cannons.
At the front of the convoy was the Legaia, a majestic beast of a ship. It was twice the size of the transports and was shaped like a rectangle with fins and a spoiler. At the top of the Legaia is its command centre, where the colonels and captains commanded the armada with a breathtaking view.
Admiral James Benson sat in the commander's throne, watching over the various transports and fighters. The admiral wore a blue uniform and a silver cap, with various badges on his chest signifying his achievements and his rank. He had thick brown hair, a thin beard and broad shoulders. He was known as a legend among the various military branches of the Dominion, having commanded huge fleets and campaigns against neighbouring empires. He had recently been given command of this transport fleet headed towards the planet Suiris in wild space to ensure it gets to its destination safely.
Admiral Benson sighed as he sipped from a cup of his favourite tea. This had been no doubtedly the most boring mission of his career and he was ready for it to be over.
Suddenly, everything on the command bridge jolted, causing several things to get knocked over. The admiral was taken by surprise and almost fell over.
After a while, the ship jolted again, and the admiral began to notice that the other ships were experiencing the same effects. A few of the crew members began to feel spacesick whilst the others panicked and screamed. It was the perfect definition of complete pandemonium!
The admiral turned to face one of the few crew members who still remained calm on the bridge. "Lieutenant Wakin! Give me a full status report ASAP!" The lieutenant turned to face him and said "Sir! Strong magnetic waves from an unknown source are pulling us towards the surface of the apocalyptic world of Criterion! It is also affecting our communication systems; we can't contact anyone outside the fleet!"
James froze. He had heard rumors of this happening from other captains and admirals that passed through this system.they always said that they were lucky to have escaped the system and no one should get close to that planet, but James never listened.
Now he wished he did.
The admiral immediately went into damage control mode. "Contact all transports and tell them to point their bows towards the surface and initiate the landing sequence! Dock up all drone fighters! Brace for impact!"
