In the year 8592, on the barren surface of the planet Criterion, stood a small city, created from those colony ships so many years ago. Criterion City was a dreadful place to be, as it hardly ever rained and was surrounded by dangers of all kinds, only protected by a decrepit concrete wall. No one was allowed out there.
The buildings were never meant to be on this planet, which was much drier and warmer than Suiris, resulting in huge cracks along the side of the buildings.
In the center of the city sat Criterion High, the only school in the entire city. It was a single huge block with a clock tower in the center and is where all of Criterion City's students go to for high school education. Next to it are Criterion Kindergarten, Criterion Elementary School and Criterion College.
In classroom S1T, Ms Connie had her back towards the students, drawing holograms on the holoboard, teaching history to a bunch of bored 16 year olds. She was a petite old woman with graying blonde hair and always wore outfits covered in flowers. "In the year 4185, The Great Attraction caused Admiral Benson and his fleet to jolt toward Criterion, resulting in him ordering an emergency landing in an unknown location......"
Liam Benson yawned. He was the descendant of the great admiral himself, and certainly looked the part. He inherited his brown hair and broad shoulders, however he was also the most good looking boy in town-almost every single girl at Criterion High had a crush on him. However, he was not available at the moment for he already had a girlfriend. A few minutes later, his head was on the table and he was drooling all over it.
Jenna Corgan was the descendant of legendary Dominion sniper Ricki Corgan. She had soft flowing blonde hair, light blue eyes and a pretty face to match, so almost every boy in school had a crush on her. She was also bored of their teachers lecture and yawned simultaneously with Liam. A few minutes went by and her head is also on the table.
Two desks to the left of her, Audrey Klinger had wavy brown hair and the deepest blue eyes anyone had ever seen. She wasn't the prettiest or the smartest girl in school, however she was really good at art and geography and had managed to memorize the entire world map of Criterion. She was also known as the descendant of heavy shields-woman Clara Klinger, who defended Criterion during The Great Wolf Siege.
Three desks behind her sat Sam Corgan, the twin brother of Jenna. He had blonde hair, green eyes and a faceful of freckles. He shared his sister's low metabolism and Audrey's love of geography.
At the front of the class sat Hannah "Bookie" Buxter, a girl with straight black hair and small eyes that were made larger by a pair of purple nerd glasses on her face. She was the descendant of scientist Yamu Buxter who found a cure for the Criterion Plague many years ago. She was also one of the only people in the classroom who seemed even remotedly interested in the subject their teacher was discussing. She also had a ginormous crush on Sam, although she never mentioned it.
Hannah raised her hand eagerly-a little too eagerly. Obviously she had a question she was dying to ask.
"Yes, miss Buxter?" Miss Connie asked.
"Where did the convoy ships land?" She asked.
"No one knows," Miss Connie replied. "Some say that Admiral Benson hid a map to the ships inside Criterion High. Others say they sank into the ground, never to be seen again. Some even say they were eaten by space worms the size of buses. Ridiculous!" She laughed, although no one joined her.
Just when she was done laughing, the bell in the clock tower chimed loudly-which meant school was over and their one month holiday has begun. The students that were taking a nap immediately sat up and wiped of their saliva.
Miss Connie turned around to face the crowd." Fellow students, our semester together has come to an end. I hope that you havr learned something from this semester. Happy holidays!"
As soon as she finished her speech, the students poured out of the classroom. Hannah, Sam, Liam, Audrey and Jenna chit-chatted whilst walking towards the exit. They had been friends since their first semester of elementary school despite their differences.
"Can't you believe it?!" Hannah cried." Imagine if we stumbled upon the map to the landing site. Wouldn't that be cool?
"What map?" Liam asked. Clearly he hadn't been paying attention to what their teacher was saying.
"You don't know cause you were sleeping the entire time!" Sam teased.
"Hey, that's enough teasing, okay? You don't have to put him on the wall of shame because he wasn't listening!" Audrey reprimanded.
"Yeah, stop that!" Jenna said.
The group bickered and argued their way down the hall, when all of a sudden, Sam tripped over a lever that no one noticed before. A secret drawer popped out and a small holopad was concealed inside.
"What's in that old piece of junk, little bro?" Jenna asked." I don't know. Let's bring it back to the hideout and see." He replied.
