Jack and I sat in the waiting room, by some miracle, the glass was close to her heart but didn't pierce it . The doctors said that she'll be okay, but she might be unconscious for a few weeks or more, they aren't sure .
I glanced at Jack, who was holding his head in his hands. My heart went out to him.
After Cassie he became this shell of a person . Jessica was the light that saved us all, I can't imagine what he must be going through.
I persuaded him to go home and get some rest , he insisted that one of us has to be here for her.
"She has to know that she isn't alone."
That's what he said to me. My heart truly bleeds for them, both of them, they've been through more than anyone should.
We took turns. I would stay while he went home and shower and slept. He would stay while I went home, this routine went on everyday for a month. After a month Jessica finally fluttered her eyes opened .
