Staring out across the boundless sea of nothingness, I felt a familiar ache within me
Tears of sadness, loneliness, anger fell into the void
Blackness crowded in, crushing, suffocating, why me?
My body gave out, why continue?
Shaking, sobbing, I just wanted to give up.
Faces flashed before me, those that loved me and I, them
No, I wouldn't quit, not now, not ever.
I stood, legs shaking, quivering
Why continue? Because someone cares
Why me? Because I'm strong, unbreakable,
Turning my back to those who think less of me and towards the light, my friends, my family, my hope.
Head held high I walked on.
