The flight to Italy was 7 hours long. I'm pretty sure my soul left my body half way through. We just arrived in Rome for a month of vacation. And by we, I mean my mom, my dad, my annoying-ass sister, June and myself. We'll be visiting Rome, Florence, Venice, Valencia and Capri. Well, I understand why Italy is so renowned, it was a home to the best artists, poets and sculptors ever. Carravagio, DaVinci, Michael Angelo and others spent their whole lives perfecting art in this country.

Finally, after hours of wait, we leave the airport and hop in a cab. Our hotel is a little closeted apartment outside the city, in the fields. It's 5:30 AM, and it's pretty dark outside. We decided to sleep until 4 PM the catch on the few hours of insomnia we had to endure in the plane. But I couldn't sleep. Not yet. I sneaked outside to feel the wind brushing against my face. The view was extraordinary. The morning sun engulfed Rome, painting it gold with its rays of sunshine. This will be my break and I will heal. It may not be sudden, but my worries will soon fade into the horizon to become as insignificant as little grains of sand on a beautiful big beach.

After that, we traveled trough Rome, it's museums and all it's beautiful parks. We stopped at the Colosseum, visited multiple pizzerias and entered it's biggest cannoli restaurant. And then, Florence.

Our first tourist attraction was a marble statue in the middle of a big avenue. The man in the monument was brandishing his sword, looking into the horizon. He was riding a dark horse and was covered in gold medals. He was probably a renowned captain, glorified by many victories. I stood there contemplating its beauty when I suddenly felt a chill down my spine, I was being watched. I turned around and that's when I saw him. Our eyes met and I stood there silently gazing into his beautiful green eyes. No. What am I saying? I don't know this guy, but why does it seem like I've known him forever? He reached for what looked like a camera and pointed it at me. I wanted to go over to him and say something, anything, but something held me back, so I opened my mouth and screamed "Are you a guide?"
