Allison's POV {a month and a half later (4:45am)}
I woke up during the night, feeling very sick. Waiting for the pain to pass, I just sat still. Shawn slept soundlessly beside me. Suddenly, I felt the urge to throw up, and ran to the bathroom. After throwing up everything from the day before, I brushed my teeth. One look in the mirror was all it took to confirm what I thought. I was definitely sick. My face look thin and pale, my eyes a grayish color. My dark brown hair was in a very messy ponytail, to keep my hair from getting puked on. I fixed it in the mirror and shut the light off.
When I climbed back in bed, Shawn rolled over towards me. I pulled the covers up and I felt Shawn's fingers on my arm.
"Ali, are you okay? What happened?" Shawn's sleepy voice interrupted the silence in the room.
I laced our fingers together.
"It's okay, I'm fine."
I laid my head down just as Shawn leaned in to kiss my cheek. I cringed away from him, afraid of getting him sick too.
"You're not fine Allison." Shawn's voice sounded more serious than before.
"I just threw up, no big deal. It's FINE Shawn, really, I'm fine."
"I love you my beautiful Angel."
Shawn tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.
"I don't feel very beautiful." I said.
Shawn smiled and kissed my cheek before I could turn away.
"You are always beautiful, no matter what Allison."
I could feel my cheeks burning. I've been with Shawn for three years and I still am not used to his compliments. I don't think I'll ever get used to it.
"Thank you Shawn. I love you." I told him, snuggling close to him but keeping my face turned away.
He put his arm over my hip.
"I love you too."

Shawn's POV {7:00am}
I needed to leave for work soon and I didn't want to leave Allison alone. She had called in sick to work. Good thing it is Saturday, I know she doesn't like to miss school.
Before I left, I brought Ali some soup and a ginger ale. She was lying in bed, facing away from me. I put the bowl down on the nightstand."Okay Ali, I'm gonna leave for work. I'll be home around 5:30. I love you, call me if you need me."
She didn't move or make a sound. I put a hand on her shoulder."Ali?"
I heard a soft snore. I kissed her on the forehead and walked out the door. I figured she need a lot of sleep if she was sick. I didn't want to wake her up just to say goodbye. As I passed the kitchen, I decided to leave her a note.
Allison,
I had to go to work, sorry I couldn't stay home with you. Call me if you need me. I'll be home around 5:30. I love you, hope you feel better.
Love, ShawnI left it on the counter, right where she could clearly see it.
Locking the door behind me, I quickly left for work.***********
Allison's POV {11:08am}
I saw Shawn's note when I got up to microwave my soup. It had gotten cold while I slept for 4 hours.
As soon as I opened the microwave, I felt a wave of nausea. Before I could throw up all over the kitchen floor, I ran to the bathroom down the hall. Above the toilet was a calendar I kept to keep track of my monthly visitor. I realized it was November 7th. I should have gotten my period a week ago. I'm never late, never. Sometimes a day or two, but never a week late. Oh no.
