Raizada Group of Industries, HQ.

I stood outside the building and sighed. This is the lion's den I've trained for. I should have backed out of this. But I am too coward to say no sometimes. But at least I still have a chance. If I'm not selected, I would go back to my life. But Khanna warned me to not fail deliberately. He said he would be keeping an eye on my performance through his 'men'.

The building was tall and spread out in a sprawling green campus. The main building must be easily more than twenty stories high. OK Naina stop stop admiring the building and get to the interview on time. I checked my watch which said 8:20. Strange. When I left home it was 8:15. Hurriedly I checked my phone which showed 9:39.

SHIT! The reporting time was latest by 9. I knew I was getting late when I got stuck in the infamous Mumbai traffic. I didn't bother to check the time then. Damn it! He will definitely murder me.

I ran inside the building and went straight to the reception. The receptionist was a pretty woman dressed in a crisp saree.

"Excuse me? Where...?" I started but she interrupted.

"Are you here for the interview for the secretary?"

"Yes. Can you tell me where I have to go?"

"You are late. You should have been here by 9 am." She looked at me disapprovingly.

"I know. I am sorry, I got stuck at traffic. Has it started?"

"Yes it did. You would be lucky if they still allow you to sit for the interview. Give me your documents."

I passed her my folder where she checked my documents and my name in a list and passed me a form.

"Here. Fill this up and give it to the person in charge over there. Eighth floor. Hurry up."

"Thank you so much." I smiled in relief.

I ran to the elevator and punched the buttons. When you're getting late things have to go even more late. After what felt like an eternity it finally came. And then it felt another eternity to reach the eighth floor. As soon as the doors opened I dashed out but then abruptly stopped again. Where to go in this huge floor? There were so many doors on both sides along the long hallway. No sign? What sort of MNC was this?

I took a chance and took the right. Nobody was even in sight there. I was getting paranoid now. What if all this was an elaborate sham? But why would anyone play a trick on me? And something this expensive?

Finally I saw someone coming out of one of the rooms. I ran to him.

"Hey! Excuse me please?"

He turned around. He was a tall man with broad shoulders and had visible muscles in his arms. But he was dressed in a casual jeans and hoodie. He was wearing a cap and shades covered his eyes. But his sharp jawline was prominent with light stubble. Jeans? Too casual for an office, isn't it? But that was hardly my concern right now.

"Yes?" He looked at me.

"Can you please tell me where is the interview going on?" I almost panted.

"Which interview specifically? There are at least five happening today." His deep voice sent chills down my spine.

"Um..." I adjusted my spectacles. It felt uncomfortable because I wasn't a specs person but this was a part of my disguise. I had rolled my eyes when Khanna insisted that spectacles do a good job of representing the scared and timid look, so least likely to draw suspicion. An age old trick but still handy. "The interview for the personal secretary to the CEO. I'm already late and I can't find the room. No sign even. Where is it happening, do you know?"
