Mike's POV

I tugged at my hair for the final time before sitting up.

Hey, I'm Mike Dirnt. I can play bass, and I quite possibly have a crush on my roommate, Billie. He's just so sweet when we talk and his smile can really make a guy melt. I tend to ignore him so that he doesn't notice my feelings. I'm not even sure if he's gay or bi or whatever.

A soft knock on my bedroom door tore me from my gay thoughts about my roommate and I opened the door to see him standing there holding a folded up piece of paper.

"What do you want, Billie?" I sounded so bitter, fuck, rETREAT RETREAT!

"O-oh, uh, someone, uh, swept this under the door and it has your name so I just thought...here, just take it."

He shoved the paper to me then walked away quickly, hiding his face.

I opened the folded sheet of paper and read the poem or song written.

"I said I'd never leave
That doesn't mean you need to stay
I promised you the world
When all I had was a small town

You told me that the world was stupid
I agreed
You told me that the world was meaningless
I agreed

I promised you the world
When all I had was a small town
I said I'd never leave
That doesn't mean you need to stay

The world never believed in us
Your father never approved
Your mother was gone
You didn't believe in us

I said I'd never leave
That doesn't mean you need to stay
I promised you the world
When all I had was a small town

You and me
Me and you
You and I
I and you

Small town
Big world
This small town is under our control
This big world is out of our control"

I'd be lying if I said this didn't melt my heart a little. Or a lot. The lyrics were so smoothly written and the handwriting was slightly messy, but a good messy. Who could've written this note for me?
