(9) Insecurities (Prinxiety)

Virgil stayed up a bit late on his phone last night. After a while, he started to get a little bit hungry. He got up from his bed and walked towards the stairs. He stopped by Roman's room because he could hear faint sobbing. He immediately knocked on the door and asked for permission to come inside. The door slowly creaked open to reveal a dishevelled Princy. His eyes were red from crying and his posture was low. His hair was a mess which was irregular for Virgil.

"Can I come in?" Virgil asked politely. Roman nodded and shut the door behind him. "So, what happened?"

"Well... I guess it started a few years ago.. I show others that I'm really confident and stuff, but really I'm not. I have a lot of insecurities. And I often cry a lot each night. Honestly, I sometimes wish that others would notice the pain but nobody ever noticed, except for Patton. So, I-I kind o-of.. j-ju-just gave u-up a-and kept th-the act f-for a-a w-wh-while.." Roman was sobbing at the end of his explanation. He was expecting Virgil to laugh or make fun of him but was surprised when Virgil hugged him.

"Shh, it's okay..." Virgil tightened the hug. Roman sobbed in the crook of his neck. After a while his sobs stopped. He looked up at Virgil with watery eyes.

"Why are you being so nice to me? I've done nothing but made you feel left out."

"Well, maybe 'cause I like you." Virgil said, smiling warmly. A blush crept onto Roman's face as he looked into Virgil's dreamy eyes. After a while of comfortable silence, Roman leaned closer to Virgil. Virgil instinctively leaned back, closing the gap between the two. The kiss changed from a sweet kiss to a full-on makeout session. The two pulled away, needing breath. Roman muttered something that Virgil could barely hear.

"Hm? What was that?"

"I love you too, Hot Topic."
