Based upon
The Railway Station at Riaz
by Jose Roosevelt- 1988Click clack, click clack
The dirge of the track
It roars and bellows
Stomping over
her green meadowsShe unwillingly dances
in tandem to the beat
of the mechanical monster's sickening thud
Click clack, click clack
Her life hangs in the balance,
Choked and captured by smog and smoke,
Her love, her heart, her soul
snuffed out.Twisting and winding,
Whining and dying
She shrieks and sings,
Begging for a savior
Click clack, click clack
The dirge of the track
Strangles her song
