Chapter 3

I kept on pacing here at the backyard. I don't know why I'm feeling nervous. Maybe because I am going to meet my soon-to-be husband later. Just the thought of him makes me shiver. And the thought of him marrying me is really horrifying.

I mean. Who would like to marry a man whom you never met in your entire life. That is ridiculous.

I was gone with my thoughts when my started calling me.

"Emma!" She yelled

"Just a minute, mom!" I yelled back. I'm not yet ready to leave.

"Hurry up! We'll be late." And then she left.

Before leaving, I gaze at the house one last time. I'll be living with the Crawford's from now on. Ugh.

I went up to the car and put on my iPod and earphones and started listening to music until I drifted off to sleep.

"Wake up, honey." My mom said. I groan and blinked my eyes. I got out the car and stared at the huge house infront of me. Well, I don't think this is just an ordinary house.

It's more of like, a mansion. Wow. This is really nice. But I didn't came here for the money. I came here for my Dad.

"Welcome Mr&Mrs. Steele. It's a pleasure to see you again." A man who was in his mid 40's went to us then looked at me after. "I guess this is Emma. Hello dear. How are you?" He asked me. He seems really nice.

"I'm good. Thanks" i replied.

"Well. Thank you, Chris. It's nice to see you too. Where's your son?" My dad asked and I suddenly feel nervous.

"Oh. He's in his room. I'll call him. Just go inside and have a tea first while I'm calling him. Make yourself at home." Then he left.

"You'll be fine, Emma." My mom assured me because she noticed my twitching of palms.

I just rolled my eyes then sighed. A moment later, I heard footsteps coming from the stairway. I turn to look up at the guy who was looking at me intently. His blue eyes is shining like the moon. He's a gorgeous guy. A breathtaking one.

I shrugged with fear. My wolf is dancing for joy. One thing that popped up my mind.

"Mate." I whispered.

He's here. He is Nate. The one who will be my husband. He's my mate. The one who just smirked at me while he was busy making out with a whore. The one who broke my heart for the first time without him knowing it.

He didn't wait for me! And now, I'm going to marry him? Oh hell no.

"Why not? He's our mate! Give him a chance." My wolf hissed.

Well, maybe my wolf is right. Maybe he has a good reason why he did that. Feeling dumbfounded, I gave him a chance in my heart.

"Hello. I'm Nate" he said and he reach out his hand for me.

Hesitantly, I reached out for my hand too. "I'm Emma." Then i took my hands off of him.

I felt the sparks. Did he feel it too?

NATE's POV

My dad went to my room and said that Emma is already here with her family.

My wolf is so happy. Finally, I'm going to meet here again. The day that I saw her on her birthday was one of the best and worse day of my life.

Best, because I saw my mate and worse because she saw me hooking up with some slut. I just smirked at her when she saw me.

Honestly. I don't want a mate but I don't have any choice on this. I don't want to hurt Emma but I think that will happen soon enough.

I'm a playboy and will always be. No one can take away that title from me especially when I'm about to be an alpha.

On the other side, I know that Emma wanted to marry is only because of the money. And that's why it angers me. She wants to marry me to save their pack and their money.

Was it always about the money? I have to make a plan. I will marry her soon then break her heart afterwards.
