Serena jumped as thunder boomed outside. It was a stormy night. She walked into the kitchen to get her pet's food. She pulled out the bag of cat food and set it on the floor by the bowl. She poured the food into the bowl and her cat came running. "Here you go, baby." She spoke softly as she pet her cat.
Serena heard a tapping on the window, and she swore for a second she saw a person. Serena ignored the thought knowing that she lived on the 7th floor of her apartment, who would be climbing to the window?
She walked into her living room and moved things closer together. She first moved a coffee table closer to two drawers. She waved her hand towards the drawers and 12 candles floated out of them, each floating to different places. Five floated onto the coffee table spreading out, 3 floated onto the floor in front of her, and the rest floated on top of the drawers of which they came out of.
Serena touched her finger to the tip of one of the candles. It lit up. She did the same with the rest, carefully and slowly touching each one smiling and each one was lit. She then sat in front of the now lit candles and crossed her legs and put her hands into a praying position.
"Ancient one of the earth so deep, master of moon and sun." She chanted, ignoring the jingling of her cat's collar. "I shield you in my wiccan way, here in my circle round" She continued, this time hearing her cat screeching. "asking you to protect this space, and offer your sun force down." She finished. She hummed.
She stopped immediately after hearing someone walking up from behind her. She turned around, scared. She saw a hooded figure and sighed of relief. "Oh, it's just you." She whispered, standing up to face the hooded figure. She knew who they were. A friend. Before she knew it, the hooded figure pulled a
sharp object from out of their cloak, and stabbed her with it. The last thing she heard was her cat hissing.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eliza groaned as she ran through the rain. She had forgotten her umbrella at her job interview. "Jesus." She whispered to herself as lightning struck, making her almost slip. She looked up and she the familiar house that she and her older sister, Angelica lived in. She walked up the little stairs up to the porch and unlocked the door using the "hide-away" key.
"Angelica?" She called out as she closed the door. "In here. Working on the chandelier." Angelica yelled through the house. She took off her boots and set by the door, and walked into the dining room to find Angelica. "Sorry I'm late." Eliza looked up to her sister, who was on the table screwing in something. "Yeah, sure. I would've been here to meet the electrician myself, but you know I can't leave the museum until six. I wasn't even able to change." Angelica frowned as she hopped down from the table. "Sorry. I didn't realize how long I took. Did Jeremy call?" Eliza said, changing the subject. "No, but" Angelica walked over to the table in the hallway and picked up roses and a package and brought it to Eliza. "he had some roses and a package delivered." Angelica smiled at her sister. Eliza smelled the flowers and put them in a vase.
"So, how'd your interview go?" Angelica asked as Eliza carried the package to the table and began to open it. "Not good. But" she started as she opened the box and inside was a bottle of wine. "This will definitely get me the job tomorrow at my interview." Eliza grinned. "He got you port?" Angelica raised an eyebrow as held the bottle. "The ultimate ingredient my for my recipe." She smiled. Eliza turned and saw something on the kitchen counter. "Oh my god. Don't tell me that's our old spirt board." She exclaimed as she walked over to the kitchen counter. "Yeah. I found it in the basement when I was looking for the circuit tester." Angelica responded, walking behind Eliza. Eliza picked up the board and flipped it around. "'To my three beautiful girls. May this give you the light to find the shadows. The power of three will set you free. Love Mom.'" Eliza read the inscription on the back. "We never did find out what that meant." Angelica chuckled. Eliza set it down and shook her head.
"Maybe we should send it to Peggy. That girl is so in the dark, maybe a little light will help." Angelica teased. "You're so hard on her." Eliza sighed. "Eliza, the girl has no vision, no sense of the future." Angelica scoffed. "I think she's coming around." Eliza smiled to herself. "Well as long she doesn't come around here I guess that's good news." Angelica stated.
