John hopped out of his car and rushed to the apartment surrounded by police and inspectors. He showed his id to someone and he went under the tape and met up with his partner. "Well, it's about time." His partner said. "I got here as soon as I heard. Another dead female, right? Mid to late twenties." John asked. "I've been paging you for over an hour, Church, where have you been?" His partner followed him as he walked up the stairs. "Checking our a lead." John simply said. "What lead?" "One that didn't go anywhere." John walked over to the door that was wide open and went through it.
"You're avoiding my question, Church." "Because Mulligan, you don't want to know that I was at a occult shop." "Occult?" Mulligan chuckled. "You hate me don't you? You wanna see me suffer." "No. I wanna solve these murders. Someone's after witches." Church shook his head. "Women." Mulligan corrected. Church ignored him.
"That woman. I bet she was killed by an athame." Church smirked. "Wrong. Double edged steel knife." Mulligan corrected him again. "Right. That's an athame. It's a ceremonial tool. Witches use them to direct energy." Church said matter-of-factly. "It's plain and simple. She was stabbed." Mulligan shook head at Church. "She was found at an alter with carvings." Church started. "Just do me a favor. Don't follow a lead without checking with me first." Mulligan said putting a hand on John's shoulder. "You want to go to occupy shops?" Church asked smirking. Mulligan shook his head "Just get to work." Church whispered an "okay" as Mulligan walked away.
An average sized man with medium long brown hair and blue eyes walked up behind Church. "G'evening. Jeremy Duvall. New York Times." Church slightly jumped and turned around to face the man. "Care to comment?" Jeremy asked the inspector. "Plain and simple. The woman was stabbed." Church told him repeating what his partner had said. "But this is the third one this week." Jeremy added, but John walked off, ignoring him.

Eliza walks down into the basement to find Angelica fiddling with the circuit, still attempting to fix the chandelier. "I don't get it. I've checked everything. There's no reason why the chandelier shouldn't be working." Angelica exclaimed. "Y'know how we've been talking about what to do with the spare room. I think you're right. We should get a roommate." Eliza said sitting down on an old chair from her childhood. "We can rent the room at a reduced rate in exchange of helping around the house." Angelica added. She climbed down the step stool she was using and walked back up the basement stairs with Eliza behind her.
Angelica walked into the kitchen grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge. "Peggy's good with a wrench." Eliza responded. "Peggy lives in California." Angelica scoffed. "Ha. Not anymore." Eliza laughed nervously. Angelica shot Eliza a questioning look and she responded with a big smile, "She left California and now she's moving in with us!" "You've got to be kidding me." Angelica whined rolling her eyes. "Well, I couldn't say no." Eliza had a serious face. "It's her house too. Grams left it to all three of us." "Yeah, months ago, and we haven't spoken to her since." Angelica complained. "You. You haven't spoken to her. Besides, you can't still be mad at her." Eliza said pushing a hair off her face. "Well I am."
"How long have you know?" "A couple days. Or A week. Or a month or so." Eliza responded receiving a "I can't believe you" look from her sister. "When does she arrive?" Angelica asked Eliza. She was about to answer her question when the front door swung open and a woman with curly hair and a yellow hoodie walked through the door.
Eliza smiled and Angelica groaned.
"Surprise!" The curly haired woman exclaimed. "I found the hide-away key under the doormat." She said waving a small key in the air.
