Sport Festival Part 3 The Cavalery Battle

3 Rd person pov

Present Mic shouted again:
"ALLRIGHT! SOON YOU WILL START THE CAVALERY BATTLE. MIDNIGHT!"
He let the blackhaired teacher continue the talk.
"Everyone will be awarded points for the place they came on in the last test. Individual point values are added together to reach each team's total. These point values are displayed via headbands. The goal of the game is to steal headbands in order to raise the team's score. Contestants are not allowed to make each other fall on purpose. Even if a team loses their headband or falls down, they can compete until the thirty-minute time limit is up. The lowest value is 5 points and goes up with 5 for every place. And number one gets 10 000 000 points. Now form your groups! We will start in 10 minutes! "

Haruki pov

This. Was. Bad.
I was number one so nobody would join me in the battle. I would never win being assigned to some castouts that aren't compatible in teamwork.
As I was just giving up, I heard someone running in my direction.
" RUKI! Ruki! Hej! Can I join your team?"
I was happy that he would like to but I was afraid I would loose his trust if I lost.
"Sure. If you don't mind loosing."
"What do you mean? We won't loose! You're amazing!" I tried to hide my blush as I heard his words. He was so kind.
"We should hurry! We still need 2 more people!"

We looked around and saw Iida. He would be the perfect team mate for us.
"Hej! Tenya! Would you join us?"
"Heh , guys, I know we are friends and all, and you know that I would love to help you, but I need to win this. If I do then I would be noticed by the hero companies and could find an internship easier. Sorry guys."
So, that was the first time someone politely told me to fuck off. Okay. Okay.
" Hej, Ruki, you look stressed. Don't worry, okay? " he put hei hand om my back," We will find someone, and even if we don't, we will still win, I'll make sure of it! "
As I tried to hold the tears and blushes down, I noticed someone, holding a container in her hands, coming towards us.

Oh, she meant that one strangely silent girl from our class. "Sure, where is she?"
We walked up to Akane, that leaned against the wall. She had long red hair that covered her face and she didn't pay attention to anyone. She just looked at the sky.
"Hej, Akane?" she turned around.
"I guess you wanted to ask me if I would join you. I don't care about what happens here, as long as I don't have to do much." she said, audibly annoyed.
"Well, we need someone and Mei suggested you. What pover do you have? I haven seen you use it at all."
"Light bending. You couldn't see it because I bend the light. I can make things look different than they are. What's yours, I haven't seen it either."
"I'm.... Quirkless."
" A quirkless won the race. Be proud of yourself." Out of het tone, I couldn't make if it was sarcastic or not.
"So, we have lightbend, acceleration and zoom. Now we need a plan." I said.
"I think you should be the rider. We can use my equipment to raise us up in the air and lightbend to make us look invisible. Acceleration can be used to make an way out."
"I think I forgot to tell you, but I can only use my power for 5 minutes and I need to take 5 minute breaks inbetween. If we would be with less, I could do longer but this is too much." Said Akane.
"Well, that shouldn't be a problem as long as we stay out of sight. Who'll be the rider?" asked Sammy.
Everyone said it should be me. I understood why. I already overexhoused my legs so this would be the best way to go.

As the siren went we knew it was time. I already sat on their arms. They had equipped Mei's equipment. We knew the they would go straight for us. We were everyones chance. Sammy used acceleration on us. We emidiately propelled into the air by using people who fell over during the push as an ramp. Akane already activated her power, which made a spart on her fingers. Thanks to Mei's equipment we stayed in the air for some time.

"Guys, we're past the half mark already and nobody spotted us." Hatsume whispered.
"Yeah! Nice. How long we got?" I said.
" About 5 minutes. It's a wonder they haven't seen us. We lost the shield like 20 minutes ago." Sammy said, looking at his watch.
"Akane? Could you charge a bigger one? I am afraid the propellershoes are low on fuel." said Mei.
This. Was. Bad. Shoot.
"I'll try. But how are we going to come down safely?"
"Don't worry! I've got this!" said Mei. "Haruki, when I say now, pull the string. Sammy, make us run as quick as possible!". So it happened. "NOW!"
I pulled the string. The shoes stopped working and a big kite opened. I grabbed the handles and we zoofed trough the air. We cam down safely.
"Listen guys. My power is getting exhoused, I won't be able to hold it any longer."
This was it. Her power stopped working and I saw people running towards us. We had to run.
"I can't accelerate any longer. I'm sorry."
It was getting worse at every minute. I felt pulling at my headband. As I felt my forehead there was nothing.
"Guys! Someone stole the headband! We don't have any points!"
"Let's forget the milion! We should focus on something durable now that we have the chance. Let's try to get Kaoris headband. Their group is weak. We can easily get the 600 points there!"
We tried to beat the other group but it was all just too hard. The signal sounded again. We had nothing. We lost.
I climbed off and started to cry.
Akane was strangely quiet, not in het usual way. She panted and fell on the ground, unconscious. A little spark came from her fingers. She used her power? For what?
I looked down seeing a headband on my neck. As u looked on it it said 10 001 250. It was our headband. We won!
I quickly ran over to Akane, that came back to conscious and hugged her.
"You're our hero! Akane!"

Like that we passed to the last round.
