Yovu finally glanced back over to the peeping Harley, his friend having to stumble to keep his balance as Yovu turned away. "There something you hiding?~" Harley teased, knowing full well that there most likely wasn't. He knew Yovu likes his privacy, he just likes to bother him in particular because he knows he won't be offended. Yovu merely let out a small scoff, clicking his phone off and stuffing it his pocket. "Even if I did have something to hide, like hell I'd show it to you." He joked back, looking away and instead shifting his gaze over to the window. It was mostly too bright to see out of, but if he squinted he could make out the shape of a fountain in the courtyard.
Harley raised his eyebrows slightly, stuffing his hands back into his pockets as he watched Yovu without a word. He knew this would come off as creepy, but he couldn't hold back the urge to ask any longer.
"Hey," the boy started, pulling one hand out of his jean pocket as he rubbed the back of his neck. Yovu looked back to the friend at his side, waiting for him to finish his sentence before saying anything. It was more because he had a gobstopper in his mouth than the fact that he actually cared, but at least it was something. "Do you... Have any other friends?" The black haired boy managed to get out, confused as to why it was so hard for him to ask such a question. Yovu looked a bit surprised as well to be honest, raising a brow at his inquiry. "Not really... I have you, but that's pretty much it since I transferred." The boy eventually answered in an unintentionally witty tone. "Aww, you consider me a friend? How sweet." Harley cooed derisively, smiling at him with that mocking grin of his. Yovu rolled his eyes, beginning to walk once more. "I could just leave you here instead if you want." He offered, trying to hide a smirk from growing as he watched Harley's mocking and sassy expression turn into a panicked one from over his shoulder. "Wait what?! You're not that big of a douchebag..." he huffed, giving him a small smile with a hint of uncertainty. "I hope.." He added, rubbing the back of his neck again as he looked away to the crowds of students walking by. "Psh, it seems like you're more desperate for a friend than I am, actually." Yovu commented, adjusting the strap on his bag as he let his smirk grow. "Hey! Asshole, I saw that coy smile!" Harley said with a minor gasp as he stomped to catch up.
The entire way to class they were throwing passive aggressive insults at each other, but for some, that's the start of a strong friendship. Let's just hope that this is the start of theirs...

"Woah man, no way! You really found something that rare just lying on a curb?" One of the students called out, gesturing to the gem in Harley's hand as he stood at his desk. "Nah~ I don't think it's that special. It's most likely fake, who would leave a real gem on a road somewhere in the middle of town?" He replied, his tone doubtful as he tossed the piece of rock up and down in his hand. As he did so, the group that had formed around him began to panic in fear that he'd drop the thing. "Hey hey hey! What are you doing? Careful!" A few of the students called out nervously, watching the crystal with a hint of greed in their eyes. "Don't worry, it'll be fi-" Harley started, reaching to catch the crystal once more in the air. His hand missed by a centimeter, and it shattered as it hit the ground.
The whole classroom went silent, staring at the glittering shards as Harley's mouth lay agape at the mess he had just made. 'crap...' The boy muttered. He took a step back, and everyone gaze shifted to the center of attention once more, which unfortunately happened to be Harley at the moment. He took another step back, laughing nervously as he waved and sprinted to the door. He bolted down the hall until his surroundings grew quiet. "Damn, didn't know that it was that fragile..." He whispered to nobody in particular, holding a hand to his mouth as he stood there, lost in thought.

"What are you doing?"

A voice asked, Harley jumping about three feet in the air and letting out a yelp as he came back to his senses. He looked to the source, only to find a slightly confused, but amused Yovu. The smile was tugging at the ends of Yovu's lips, of course he couldn't help but want to laugh. He had been standing there for about four or five minutes before Harley even reacted, and when he did, it turned out to be hilarious. Yovu let out a small snork of some kind, clasping his hand over his mouth. "Are you laughing at me?!" Harley exclaimed, adjusting his posture as he gasped in surprise. "Who else would I be laughing at? You just jumped like, five fucking feet into the air." He replied, pointing to Harley with his free hand shakily. He was really trying to hold back a laugh to keep the hall monitors from hearing them... Though, Harley didn't seem too worried. Yovu himself was only concerned because he didn't want to make a bad impression as a new transfer student, even though he didn't care for reputation either way.
Once the two settled down, they sat by the main hall. "So what's up, why aren't you in class?" Harley asked with a hint of curiosity, glancing around every so often for any glimpse of a hall monitor nearby. Luckily, he hadn't seen one yet.
"I could be asking you the same question.." Yovu started, scratching at his cheek lightly as he stared up at the ceiling, his smirk still apparent from the event earlier. "Ah- Shattered a gem and crap, Y'know..." He trailed off, waving his hand up and down like the topic was nothing to him, despite it being the exact opposite.
Yovu scoffed lightly, looking back to the boy at his side with a raised brow. "Oh yeah? And how'd that go for you?" He asked sarcastically, most likely having already guessed the outcome of the situation. Just by looking at Harley, he could tell he didn't try too hard when it came to many things... Even if it involved a gem.
Harley merely gave a sigh, shaking his head as he let it droop down in shame.
"Pft, that bad?" The brunette muttered, getting swatted away irritatedly by Harley.
"At least you didn't drop your fragile ego." He added.

"Hey!"
