Chapter 1
Rain no longer tumbled from the clouds that blocked the daylight. The sky itself appeared to form into a simple, bare view. People in Korea began to take notice of this odd climate change. There was always water at that time of the year so...why...?
*Bada Yong*, the sea dragon, awoke from his night slumber. He heaved himself off the rock, drifting to the surface of the ocean and scanning the sky. Worry was all he felt for the past week. His elder brother, *Haneul Yong*, who controlled the sky, never called out to collect water for his clouds. It had been his job for thousands of years - and still is, yet, Bada feared that Haneul grew weary of his work. Where had he gone?
One more day.
The sea dragon puffed out some water from his nostrils, filling his lungs with oxygen through his golden gills. He would give his brother one more day to appear before approaching brother *San Yong*, the mountain dragon, to discuss Hanuel's sudden absence.
A day passed and Haneul still hadn't shown up. Bada decided that the time had come to visit brother San. Before leaving, Bada morphed a massive stone into a guardian to protect the sea while he was no longer present.
Bada spread out his wings, bursting out of the water. He inhaled the cool air, scanning the area before starting his adventure towards the home of San. Bada's scales were far too bright to not be noticed by humans, so he slipped into the thick clouds. Peering down at the city, Bada watched as people passed by in the streets with hands full of bags or phones. He lived long enough to learn the language of the humans - it wasn't so difficult as others believed it to be.
The autumn breeze was cold against Bada's scales. He wasn't used to being exposed to the elements outside of the water. Below him, the environment began to shift from buildings to colorful trees and arched mountains filled with decaying flowers and hollow caverns. Fallen leaves scattered on the ground, some drifting through the wind, crashing into things until it settled on the robust grass.
As Bada dove to the mountains, he eyed the sprinting creatures of *Jirisan National Park*. He landed before the dark cave, sniffing the stuffy air before entering the cave.
" Brother San?" Bada shouted, his voice echoing.
Darkness was disturbed by the flicker of white and gold. Bada shuffled closer, immediately recognizing the massive figure.
" San, I must speak to you about Brother Haneul. He-"
The stone walls mimicked the enraged growl of San, who arose from where he laid, pacing towards Bada. His white claws clung to the ground of the cave, San's lips curled back in such a cruel way that the pink gum attached to his massive fangs peeked out. The dragon's tail whipped out, slamming against the walls of the cave.
Bada recoiled, his belly brushing up against the wet floor as he tucked his ears down. Years have passed since he last visited brother San, he believed that San's demonic personality would have changed within years - but it hadn't. San clamped his heavy paw over Bada's face, forcing it to hit the ground with a loud thud.
Bada swallowed down the urge to roar in pain, " Brother San, I-"
" Enough youngling!" San spat at his younger brother who kept put under his grip, " How dare you disturb me from my morning slumber. You've grown guts, bastard."
Bada didn't speak, simply waiting for his brother to release him.
" What is so important that you had to barge into my lands?" San shifted away from Bada, veering back to the dark spots of the cave.
