A/N: This is the first of my MHA fanfictions. I will gradually post the others as time goes on. Eventually, all will converge in one, think of it like Marvel's Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist all coming together in The Defenders. Anyway, enjoy the first chapter!
Shiryoku Moshi got dressed. It was a Saturday morning, and it was fall. The air felt amazing this side of Japan. He looked out at the cherry blossom tree in courtyard. It swayed in the morning wind. He smiled. Shiryoku knew this would be a good day. He did not have any friends to hangout with today, but he could study in the bookstore at the mall and hangout there. Maybe he would meet a pro hero today. Maybe Combust, or Coldfire. Even maybe, dare he hope, the number one hero Deku! The symbol of peace would be saving people from all over the city. Tenso went down to eat breakfast. Shiryoku parents ran a bakery on the first floor of their building. They always had fresh pastries every morning. He walked down to see customers mingling inside. He went to the back and said good morning to his parents.
"Good morning." Shiryoku said.
"Hey Shiryoku, can you make sure that Danny is on his way?" His father asked serving cinnamon rolls to a nearby table.
"Sure Dad." He replied cheerfully. He dialed up Danny, one of their employees, was late. Since Shiryoku could not be trusted to make food, he did take calls and orders for them.
Shiryoku walked through the crowd, which parted for him. A good number of crowds parted for him. They could look at him and tell it was rough to be in a crowded place. He was blind after all. People could tell by his opaque sunglasses and his stick. He could move decent though, so he never got a seeing eye dog. That was thanks to his quirk. His quirk allowed him to "see" through vibrations around him. It is not legal for people to use their quirks in the street, but they did not expect a blind person to have a quirk. He used his stick to tap the ground in front of him, sending out vibrations. Then when he picks up the vibrations it gives him a detailed map of his surroundings. So detailed in fact, he can see where others can't. He wanted to use this quirk to help people, but there had never been a blind hero. He walked through the crowd tapping as he went. He turned and went towards a park. As he walked, he heard something. It sounded like a fight, it was coming this way. He could feel people run past him, in the opposite direction. He hit his stick on the ground, hard. He felt people running, hiding, and then them. He turned to go and felt a hand on his shoulder, and a gun to his back.
"Hey, you're blind right? That is bad for you, all alone on the streets, quirkless. Come on, you can be useful. Deku would do anything to save a blind quirkless kid." A voice said, guiding him in the direction of the noise.
"You surrender or this kid is gonna get it. And the police too! Then we go our separate ways and the kid comes out." They had been negotiating for the last thirty minutes. Shiryoku simply sat and waited. If he was right, then they were surrounded, and there were more heroes coming to help. He knew that he did not want to sit for long as he would be a liability to the operation. He could not reveal his quirk or the edge would be gone. He had to be careful about this, one wrong move and he died. They were in a bank. He counted four on the left, three to the right, and two on the roof. He could send out a large vibration wave to take out the ones here. He then could go up and take out the other two. But first he needed a mask. If he was doing this, he was going all out. He tapped his foot on the ground. One of the thugs had an extra shirt in his bag, that would work. He tapped again. The thugs were looking out the window now, all but one, who watched him in his chair. Shiryoku breathed in, and out. The robbers did not tie him, they thought he was a blind and quirkless boy, no threat whatsoever. It was that or they were just dumb. Either way it gave Shiryoku the element of surprise, which could help those on the other side. He could use his quirk for something good, show that he was no timid blind kid, this was his chance. He tapped and felt that all the eyes in the room were looking elsewhere. He gathered his power. He clapped his hands together and the thugs went flying. He sent out a focused vibrational blast. The one guarding him lunged at him. But Shiryoku knew this was coming and he threw a punch at him. He felt the connection and the fall. The others started to move just as he finished tying the mask around his face.He ran up to the nearest one that was on their feet and felt for the vibrations. He felt the muscles tense in the thug's right leg, and he hoped to the right side, parallel to his leg and elbowed his body. He heard the sound of a gun cocking and he span around. He went low forward and hit the gun. The gun was automatic and started to go off. Shiryoku went behind a desk for cover. The gun stopped, he tapped the floor with his fingers. He had three coming at him. One of them came around and was meet with a kick to the knee. Shiryoku rolled and did the same to the other two. He got up and ran for the barricaded door. He tried pulling the things off, but had little luck. That is when he felt it. An extremely strong vibration. Very strong, one of the strongest. He heard a muffled voice from the other side.
"St, louis..."
The door burst open with a gust of wind so strong it made him fly to the back wall.
"Smash!"
That was on original line. From only one hero, the number one hero. Deku had come.
"Wow! You took all of them out before I came in? That's Impressive." Deku said to Shiryoku. He had been interviewed by an insane amount of officers, giving him questions. The ambulance was on the way, just to check for injuries, but until it did Deku would watch him.
"I just did what I had to do, I knew I could not wait solely on a pro hero to show up." Shiryoku replied sheepishly.
"But the thing that is most impressive about this is your blindness. You beat them all without seeing them!" Deku responded "So, you got a name kid?"
"My name is Shiryoku."
"Well Shiryoku, I hope I meet you again, but now that others are here I should get back to my patrol, Farewell Shiryoku!" Deku said as he jumped up. He squatted down, Shiryoku could feel the vibrations build up, he reached out to his leg.
"Wait, Deku, do yo-" Shiryoku was cut off by the sudden gust of wind. He tightened his grip on the hero's leg as he felt himself fly off the ground. He tried to see with vibrations, but the only distinct thing he could see was himself and Deku, They were in the air!
"Deku! Help me!" He cried, hoping he would not fall.
The number one hero turned to face him.
"What are you doing, Shiryoku?!" Deku said, surprised at the stowaway.
"I had to ask you something, but then we were in the air!"
They landed and once Shiryoku regained his senses he finally asked him.
"The question I had Deku. The question was this. Can I become a hero?"
