"Can I be a hero too, Deku? Please tell me. If anyone could tell me yes or no to that question, then I want it to be you to tell me. Please tell me." Shiryoku said again.
"If I can't become a hero, then I need to know. I need to know if I can be the first blind hero."Shiryoku pleaded.
Deku looked at him. He didn't responded. His face looked downcast, but also in thought.
"That is a tough question. There has never been a blind hero. If I was you I would probably not try. But you, you are different. You stayed cool under pressure, and you used your situation to help the people around you. You helped even though it meant you could have been killed. A hero is when you run into danger, risking yourself for the hope that you might be able to save someone. More importantly, it's when you have enough courage to stand and look evil in the eyes and say, 'No more.'" Deku said
Shiryoku could not help but feel the emotions rise in him.
"You did that today. You stood up for the greater good, even though no one asked you to. So Shiryoku, here's my answer. You can become a pro hero one day. But for now, I am sure of this. From what you did today, you already are a hero."
Shiryoku could feel the tears roll down from his eyes. He ran into Deku and hugged him.
"Thank you Deku. Thank you so much." He said to him as he cried with joy.
"Shiryoku, you're ok!" Kare Desu said, throwing his arms around his neck.
"Yeah, I'm ok, I made it out just fine once Deku showed up." Shiryoku responded, pulling away from his only friend. Kare Desu or just Desu, had been his friend for years. His sister had helped him learn to read braille when he was younger. Desu quirk was called regenerate. It would allow him rapid healing. He once broke his arm in three different places, it's bruises, cuts, and bones completely healed in ten minutes. His quirk was not that he did not feel the pain, because he felt it most of the time. But, when he had the arm injury, his body responded by releasing Endorphins along with his quirk. That had blocked much of the pain signals from his brain. It was a nice quirk to have, but not very flashy. It didn't matter anyways, they could not use their quirks in school. Once Shiryoku got turned around in the school and he had to use his quirk to figure out where he was.
"Well it must be nice." Desu responded. "I still have not met Deku yet."
"Yeah, it was really nice. Especially what he told me after." Shiryoku proceed to tell Desu about the conversation they had about him becoming a hero.
"That's amazing! So are you considering the Hero courses now?" Desu said.
"Yeah, I'm thinking of the courses at U.A." Shiryoku said as they walked to the counselors office.
"So that's why you are going to go see Mrs. Konsa?" Desu questioned.
"Yep, I need her to get me an application in braille that I can fill out. Aren't you trying to go there as well?" Shiryoku asked.
"Yeah, maybe we can be in the same class!" Desu said hopefully.
"And sent." Shiryoku mumbled under his breath. He had just finished his application form for U.A. "Now I wait. Now I wait to see if I can get into the same school all the top ten heros went to."
A/N: Sorry for the short chapter this time! This was rushed and it is not that fun to write. The next one will be better I promise! Next time: The Letter is in!
