Chapter 3: Abduction

Kara, Avi and Vergil are out in the woods to test their skill in magic.
Unfortunately when Avi transferred some of her magic to the crystal it cracked
and broke. Now Vergil will need to use a better definer.

Avi felt guilty
"I'm really sorry Vergil-sama for breaking the crystal. I didn't mean to"

Vergil was really down, but he couldn't do anything
"it's alright. (But most importantly how did she break it? A 12 year old girl couldn't have broken a level one crystal)"

Vergil took out another crystal but this time it's a crystal ball

"this is a crystal ball, it's also a definer but more rare and advance and reallyyyyy expensive . Touch this Avi, then we can know how much power you have."

"yes sensei."

Avi slowly reaches out her hand to touch the crystal ball, then after another few seconds of silence..

Vergil started to sweat while keeping an eye on the ball.

*crack*
After the sudden crack Vergil quickly took away the crystal ball
Vergil : Yayayay! No more defining for today.

Vergil holds the ball like it was his own baby. He whispers to the ball.
"Ohh my poor baby, *sob* I'm really sorry *sob*"

Avi bows her head to Vergil.
"I'm really sorry Vergil-sama! I didn't mean to crack it *sob*"

Vergil stands and looks at Avi's eyes.
Avi sobs and starts to break a tear.
Vergil then pats Avi's head like she was a cat.

"it's alright Avi, we should refrain from using anymore definers"

Kara was surprised and shocked as he heard what Vergil said
"Ehhh!? But what about me? How can I know my capacity or what affinities I have?"

"don't worry, you'll find out as soon as we start our spell casting lesson."

Kara pouts
"fine, let's start our lesson then."

A few days passed since their started their lesson. Today, they will start to cast spells.

Vergil will be demontrating how to cast a spell.
Vergil puts out his hands and chants.
"O great god of fire, give me the power to summon the fire spirit within me, BALL OF FLAME!

But nothing happened.
"Huh!? Why did nothing happened..."

Wind blew at Vergil's hair. A chill was felt, a chill full of bloodlust.

"What's this chill I'm feeling?"

Footsteps were heard from the direction of the village, it was Dante. He
came running to them in a hurry. Dante was about 100m away from them.
Dante looking exhausted yelled.
"VERGIL!! IT'S THEM!! RUN!"

With a frightened reaction from Dante, Vergil was in a tight spot. The question is,
who is "them" that Dante was referring to?

Vergil yelled at Kara and Avi.
"AVI, KARA. RUN! TO THE VILLAGE! GO!!"

Without a doubt, they ran. Running for their lives was the only thing they could
do. Before they could even escape, the whole sky was enveloped with
darkness and a voice was heard.

The Voice from the darkness said
" HUMANS! GIVE US THE CHILD!"

Dante shouted at Kara and Avi.
"Kara, Avi, hide behind Vergil!"

Vergil gives a big exhalation and chants.
"Oh god of Alfheim, give me the power to protect us from darkness and all evil envelop us with your light, LIGHT OF THE HEAVENS!"

With Vergil's chant a light came from his hand, but unfortunately the light
broke.
Voice from the darkness
"your light magic will not work in the presence of the child! Now give us the child and all will die or we will take the child by force and all will die. Now choose."
