FlashBolt looked around the cabin and already had a bad feeling. It had a foul smell, rotting wood, and maggots crawling everywhere. There wasn't that much space either, just a desk and a chair filled the space. And on that desk was a small, blood covered book. He opened the book to see a divider labeled 'Mama'. He turned the page and read it.
'June 8th,
Today is Keira's fourth birthday but I haven't seen her all day. I hope everything is ok. I heard the others teasing her before but I don't know if she knows that it's all in good fun. I just hate to see my favorite daughter depressed, especially on this day.'
FlashBolt didn't understand, if Keira's mom loved her so much than why did she kill her? He flipped the pages to a yellow divider labeled 'Blaire' and began to read the page behind it.
'February 2nd,
Me and the others just pulled a really awesome prank on Keira. However, I feel like we over did it with her today. She ran off crying and lately our oldest sister, Dakota, has been after her pretty rough lately. I wanted to go take her out to get some jelly beans, but Dakota said if I did that I'd be their next prank victim. I love Keira, I really do and I hate pushing her down, but with all the pressure I feel like I'm being forced to bully her. I hope one day...I can tell her I'm sorry."
Flash began to feel bad for both Keira and Blaire. Both of them could've got along if they tried and that probably would've stopped Keira from killing her family. He flipped to the back of the book where he found what he was looking for; a turquoise divider labeled 'Keira'. He hoped he'd find an answer in that section.
'May 23rd
Mommy, I'm so sorry for what I'm about to do, but I just can't take it anymore! I'm scared to be in this family because of them and I just feel like I'm going mad! I went to you like you always told me to, but Dakota always has a way to get them out of trouble! And today they said I was a burden to you and...I think they're right. I've seen you up at night by your desk with all the hospital bills from when I broke my arm when I was three. I don't want to be the reason we run out of money and I hate seeing you sad! Even when you put me to bed, you cry and that's why I didn't tell you specifically what the others where doing to me. I didn't want you to worry more and become even sadder. At least by doing this, you won't have a burden. You won't be sad anymore and neither will I. I love you mommy, I hope that one day I'll be able to see you again.'
By the time FlashBolt finished reading, he had a few tears streaming down his cheeks. This did NOT sound like the Keira who killed her family. Maybe Keira wasn't as evil as they all thought, maybe she was just misunderstood. As he closed the journal, a pen rolled off the desk and made a clanking noise as it hit the floor. In suspicion, he looked down to see a rusted bucket with blood and picked it up to find it was labeled 'Keira's Heart'.
