Alchemy woke up the next morning to snoring. Really fucking loud snoring.
She sat up on the couch and found that she had fallen asleep on Harry’s shoulder.
“Shit,” she mumbled, standing up and running off to take a shower before he woke up.
Little did she know he had been sitting there for an hour watching her sleep.
Not that he was a creeper, or anything. He just didn’t want to fight first thing in the morning, and waking her up might start one. It was the first night she spent in her new home and Harry didn’t know if she was a morning person or not.
He stood up, and stretched, wincing at the pain in his arms. Then he remembered.
Sophia’s cheating.
Him coming home and getting drunk.
The smashing of all the pictures he had of them together.
The broken whiskey bottle.
The cutting.
His heart sank at the memory and he grabbed a broom and dustpan from the kitchen and went to sweep up the shattered glass.
It took him about twenty minutes to sweep up the mess completely. On his way back to his room he was knocked over by a soaking wet force.
“Shit, Harry!” Alchemy screamed, pushing herself off of Harry and adjusting the towel wrapped around her body.
“What the fuck?” Harry bellowed back. Obviously she wasn’t a morning person.
Alchemy was pissed, “Oh I’m sorry, its not my fault I tripped over the goddamn broom!”
Harry rolled his eyes, “Watch where you’re going next time then!”
“Don’t leave your shit in the middle of the hallway!”
“Its my apartment, I’ll do whatever the hell I want!” Harry bellowed, throwing his hands up in the air.
Alchemy stepped closer so their faces were almost too close together, Harry could smell the mint of her toothpaste. She glared at him, “Considering I’m paying half of the rent, its my apartment, too, dumbfuck,”
And with that Alchemy stormed into her room and slammed the door shut.
She grabbed a pale sundress from her closet, a denim jacket and a pair of cream heels and pulled her hair to the side and slipped on a pair of Aviators and a beanie. She grabbed her purse and stormed out of the apartment, leaving Harry standing angrily in the middle of the hallway.

Alchemy walked down to the coffee shop at the end of the block, hoping to calm herself down.
She ordered her drink and sat down at a table in the corner, pulling out her favorite book, Bruiser .
“Is this seat taken?” A deep voice asked.
Alchemy looked up to see tall, tan-skinned, dark haired boy smiling at her. She shook her head softly and looked back down at her book.
“I’m Zayn, by the way,” The boy said, offering his hand to her.
“Alchemy,” She mumbled, shaking his hand.
“Alchemy?” Zayn pondered the name for a minute, it sounded awfully familiar. “Oh! Are you the girl that….” His voice trailed off after noticing the glare Alchemy was shooting him.
“Precisely,” She said, confirming that she was, in fact, that girl.
“Oh…So how’re you liking London?” Zayn asked. She shot him a weird look and he continued to explain himself, “Harry told us all about you. You’re 18, moved here from the USA and you’re currently going to college and studying English Literature…Yeah?”
Alchemy nodded, “Yup,”
“So,” Zayn said again, “How’re you liking London?”
Alchemy shrugged, “Its beautiful at night,” She said, smiling, “I haven’t really seen much of it, though. I just flew in yesterday.”
Zayn nodded and stood up, “Well I’m heading over to visit Harry…So, care to walk with me?” He asked, extending his arm to her.
She giggled and stood up, linking her arm in his, they walked back to the apartment, talking and laughing.
When they got there, Alchemy pulled out her keys and opened the door, laughing at something Zayn had just said.
“Oi, if you’re gonna be bringing boy-toys home, the least you could do is warn me!” Harry shouted from the kitchen, upon hearing Alchemy’s laughter.
She couldn’t resist, “He’s not my boy-toy…He’s yours !”
Harry’s head poked around the corner, “What the fu— Oh Hey Zayn!” He exclaimed, stepping around the corner and embracing the older boy in a quick hug, “What brings you by?”
Zayn shrugged, “The lads are getting together tonight and they wanted to know if you and Sophia are in…?”
Harry’s face fell and he shook his head, “Nah, man,”
“Haz,” Zayn immediately noticed his discomfort and worried about his friend, “What happened?”
“She broke up with me,” Harry mumbled.
Alchemy scoffed, “Aww poor little baby Harry,” She said sarcastically, earning a glare from Harry.
He shook his head, “She cheated on me, Zayn.”
Zayn’s eyes widened at the revelation, “When?”
Harry’s eyes stung with tears, “Four months,” His voice broke and Zayn wrapped his arm around Harry’s shoulder.
“Shit man,” Zayn muttered, leading Harry to the couch where he continued to cry.
Alchemy’s jaw dropped, “Excuse me,” she mumbled, dashing back to her room.
She had never seen anyone that vulnerable.
