Next part of sensory overload

--------------

By the time Peter and MJ arrived at the school nurse, Peter had flushed cheeks and a really bad migraine. His vision was focusing and then going super fuzzy. MJ was beginning to worry about her friend. He looked absolutely terrible and seemed like he could barely stay on his feet.

"Has anything like this ever.......happened before," MJ asked, concern coating her voice.

"Not that I remember," Peter replied with all the strength he could muster. He felt weak and tired and was really starting to get curious as to what was wrong with him.

Wait.....

What if this was something to do with that radioactive spider bite? Maybe it gave him some illness aswell as his powers. Peter didn't have a chance to keep pondering this thought because they were at the nurse's door.

"Who have we got here?" the nurse asked.

"This is Peter Parker and I'm Michelle Jones," MJ replied politely.

"What brings you both?" the nurse ( Ms. Grant) questioned.

Peter spoke up, "Um.. I have a really bad migraine and everything was fine this morning........but um I feel terrible now." wow, Peter scolded to himself, it totally doesn't sound like your faking it, genius.

Regardless if Peter thought it didn't sound convincing, Ms. Grant looked at him pitifully before replying, "Oh well that's not good at all. Would you like me to call your parents to come pick you up?"

The word parents hit Peter like a blow to the gut. He managed to compose himself and sound alot more together than he felt, "Um.... my parents are dead," the nurse looked at him with sad eyes as he quickly continued,"but I wouldn't mind if you could call Mr. Stark who's...um...taking care of me this weekend while my Aunt May is on a business trip."

MJ wasn't fazed by the mention of Tony Stark taking care of Peter but Ms. Grant clearly wasn't expecting it. A look of pure shock had appeared on her face but she quickly covered it with a serious face and said,"I will do that now, Peter. If you just wait here while I call Mr. Stark and hopefully he'll come and pick you up."

"Thank you Ms. Grant," MJ spoke for the first time in what seemed like a million years of pain for Peter.

"Your very welcome," Ms. Grant replied while walking off to call Mr. Stark.

MJ and Peter took a seat just outside the door. As soon as Peter sat down he was hit with an incredibly load noise in his ears which caused him to shoot out of the chair and cringe at the loudness that swallowed him up. MJ was at his side in mere seconds asking him if he was ok.

"Y-yeah I'm-I'm fine, just a really loud noise," he explained.

MJ gave him a quizzical look then asked," Wait, do you mean the slight sound of the phone ringing? Peter?" MJ was really getting concerned now. Peter seemed to wince at her every word no matter how softly or quietly she spoke. It looked like he kept zoning out so she lead him back to the seats they were in before and made him sit.

Almost instantly, Ms. Grant came back into the room," Well Mr. Stark is on his way to come and get you," she informed the two teenagers. Peter was relieved at the news and slumped a bit in his chair, catching MJ's watchful eye full of concern. Once again the nurse gave him a look of pity and wandered into the back to give the teens some time to talk.

Not long after, Tony was walking into Midtown tech with a serious look on his face. It was full of determination to get to his sick 'son' and take him home. He arrived at the nurse's office about 5 minutes later to find a nearly asleep, ill looking Peter slumped in a chair, leaning against his friend MJ who looked concerningly down at him. Tony's face instantly softened at the sight of this. He walked over and gently nudged Peter to tell him he was here,"Hey Underoos," he spoke softly, "I'm gonna take you back to the Tower okay."

"M'kay," Peter sleepily spoke,"Bye MJ, thanks for the help."

"Bye, Loser. Hope you feel better soon," she replied while walking back to class.

"Right, let's get going so you can rest and we can find out what's wrong," Tony stated as he and his kid walked back to his posh Audi and drove home.
