I walked calmly down the almost empty streets of town.

Ciel was back at home with Grell, so I had nothing to worry about. Well, maybe I did.

The sun was setting and most stores would close soon. I had to hurry if I wanted to find something for Ciel.

I rarely left home, so I had no idea where I was going, I just kept walking.

Walking and walking until I reached the 'lesser' part of town. It wasn't that bad, it just wasn't what I was used to.

I heard footsteps behind me. Calm down Seb, it's just someone else walking behind you. Everyone does that it's normal for someone to walk.

But I was scared. What if they wanted to rob me? I only have my phone and 30 bucks on me. Those two things are not worth my life, oh my god.

My breaths became shorter, I could still hear the footsteps. I saw a lit store in front of me, this is my chance!

I hurried my pace and burst through the door of the small shop. I slammed the door shut and leaned against it, my breathing returning to normal.

The footsteps became less louder and through the clear glass windows of the shop I saw that it was just a woman in an overcoat.

Oh...

I face-palmed. Unbelievable! I'm such a wimp, she was just walking by and I almost ran away screaming bloody murder! Jesus I'm such a baby-

"Hello?" A voice said from behind me. I turned around and for the first time, I was aware of my surroundings.

Jars filled with colorful candies, pastries laid out on silver trays, pastel pink walls, the smell of backed goods...

A sweets shop.

"Are you gonna buy some candy?" The little voice said again.

I turned my attention to the counter. A little boy with Sky blue eyes and platinum blonde hair stared back at me. "Uhh..."

"Alois, what are you doing down here, don't you have homework to finish?; Oh! Hello young man, how may I help you?"

A woman with pitch-black hair pinned back from her face and a pink apron came out from a door behind the counter.

Alois giggled. "Mum, I already finished it." I noticed he had a very heavy accent. British maybe?

"Well, it doesn't matter. It's past your bedtime young man. Go upstairs, brush your teeth and go to bed."

Alois grunted. "Will ya' tuck me in?"

"Ask your father." She shooed him back upstairs and he stuck out his tongue at her.

She sighed. "...Such a handful, do you have kids?"

Did I really look that old to her? "A-A little brother, yes."

The ghost of a smile appeared on her face. "Of course; Now, how may I help you?"

I though for a minute: What was Ciel's favorite candy? He loved sweets a lot. Mom used to buy him lemon candies...but he always makes Aunt Ann buy him Jolly Rancher's...and I always bring him lollipops...damn.

"Hmmm...What would you give a sad little boy?" I asked almost in a whisper.

She tapped her finger on her chin for a minute before looking back up to me. "Does he like macaroons?"

What. "Umm...I-I don't think he's ever tried those before..."

"Then he'll love these!" She pointed these small, round bagel-looking things.

"Uh..." They did look good and Ciel has never rejected any type of sweet before...I sighed, what do I have to loose?

"Sure, give me five."

She nodded and and began packing the macaroons.

I assumed I'd buy five; One for me, two for Ciel and two for Grell to thank her for babysitting him.

She handed me a plastic bag with a baby-blue logo that read:"Daisy's", and had a bluebell next to it. What. Why where there bluebells...instead of daisies. Was it some kind of irony, a joke?

"That'll be six dollars and twenty five cents."

I paid and was about to leave when: "Come back any time you like!"

I turned around and smiled "Thank you Miss..?"

"Daisy."

"Of course, Miss Daisy."

So it wasn't a joke...
