I threw myself onto my couch after a long, tiresome day. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and let out a powerful sigh.
I'm exhausted. My feet are sore. I know i still have work to get done, but I can hardly hold my eyes open. Although, i have a stunning green painting that hangs out on the wall in front of me. It's keeping me awake. I stare at it, observing the details. How pretty.
My senses began to fade.. the world around me began to black out.
Before I knew it, I was suddenly standing in the middle of a large grass field. The birds chirping and the warm breeze dawned a heavy sense of tranquility. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath of relief.

There was a small hut that stood captivating from a distance, so I ran through the long grass to see it up close. The door was open, and there laid a velvet cake and some roses on the dining table before me.

I sat down while scanning the room. Floral curtains above the sink flowing in the air by the breeze. The dishes were neatly sorted on their racks, vivid green plants all around the counters, an odd painting on the wall in front of me.
I picked up my fork cutting the cake desperately as though I hadn't eaten in days, although I struggled to even get a slice onto my fork.
The painting stood there ominously.
The cake's texture is odd.. or maybe it's the way I'm holding the fork, but goodness is it getting challenging to just get a slice. My heart is beginning to beat a little faster as I continuously struggle to cut the cake.
My hands began to get cold. My world will end if I don't get a bite of this dreamy cake.
The painting in front of me would not stop absorbing me. I could hardly get my eyes off of it. A dull painting of a neighborhood with homes that all looked like replicas. A few cars parked at the side of the road. It was nighttime and the sky was dark blue. What a familiar painting it was.
I'm zoning out.I need to eat the cake. I gave up trying to use the fork and instead just used my hand. Finally, i have a piece. I can finally feed this craving.
Although, this dull painting was hypnotizing me...
I locked my eyes on it as I brought my the cake closer to my mouth.
But before the flavor had the chance to touch my lips, my arm began to elongate. My hands couldn't even reach my face. It continued to stretch so long I could no longer even see them.
The world is blacking out. My mind is racing. My hands are cold and sweaty. I need to taste that cake.
But in that second, everything around me was dark. I hear distant sirens. I opened my eyes, and there I was, sitting on the couch of my dim living room. Outside my window, stood the dulling painting.
