Aiden's P.O V

It has been one year, 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days since she left, and I still think about her every day.

Ever since she left I started doing more legal work with my Cartel. I started buying out businesses just to make a better name for myself.

"Aiden, today is her birthday."

Eric said looking up from my paperwork. I nodded and threw myself another shot of whiskey before continuing with my work.

"There is a party at Smith Inc. ,they did invite you to it. Harper is the new owner, her father stepped down as CEO and she is taking over."

My eyes shot up at him. I stood up from behind my desk and talked to him before gripping him into a tight hug

"Thank you Eric."

Eric looked shocked before looking at my face smiling at me. I gave a deep breath trying to get my heart back to a normal beat. It was missing a few beats at a time.

"Go Aiden, go and get your girl back. Please just behave yourself."

I quickly got dressed in a three piece black suit with a light blue button up shirt. I gelled my hair back, my wrist tattoos showed a bit at the end of my sleeve.

Loud and obnoxious music flooded through the halls, indicating that the party was in full swing.

I walked into the ballroom, slick marble floors leading to a pitch black bar, the ceiling was illuminated by starry lights. Everybody was dressed to perfection.

I scanned the room looking for waiter's, I needed a fucking drink, then my eyes fell on her. Harper. She stole all the attention in the room without even knowing it.

She was wearing a black dress with flowers on the top part of it, the dress had a high slit that not a lot of people could pull off. Her hair was pulled into a tight ponytail showing off her diamond shaped face highlighted by light nude makeup.

Her eyes landed on me and she smiled, that damn smile I missed so much. A man toughed her arm and she gave him a hug, I could feel my blood start to boil as my jealousy started to kick in.

She walked to the balcony alone and I followed her, I wanted to talk to her, no I needed  to talk to her.

"You look breathtaking, little one."

She spun around looking at me, she looked shocked to see me and I did understand why. It has been a year and so much has changed.

But my feelings for her never did.

She gave me a hug almost like there was a sence of urgency, almost like she needed to hold me again.

I snacked my arms around her waist, not wanting this moment to end any time soon. I wanted to see her again, outside of work and functions but now was not the time to ask her.

"How have you been Harper. I see you covered the tattoo up with a small flower, it looks really nice."

She scratched the back of her head before looking at me, she took a sip of her drink before clearing her throat.

"Hi Aiden, you look really handsome. I've been busy with school and now with taking over the business."

She unconsciously touched her tattoo before giving a gulp looking away from me.

"I covered it about a month after I came back home, I wanted to forget that part of the experience."

I placed my index finger under her chin, pushing it up so that she can look at me. I gave her a kiss, it was slow, I wanted to remember how soft her lips are. I broke the kiss, turned around and left the party.

"Let's go out tonight Aiden"

Eric whined as he was busy sitting on the couch in my office.

"It will be fun and if you wanna le-"

"Fine let's go."

"Leave we can it's okay. Wait what? Did you actually agree to go out and not just stay at home cooped up in your office?"

Eric basically squealed like a teenage girl, but he was right, I was always working. It's been a week since I saw her and I couldn't stop thinking about that kiss.

We got dressed and went to the club I owned. Tonight someone was performing but I didn't know who.

We walked into the club and I walked straight to the bar, fuck I needed a drink if I wanted to get through tonight. I scanned  the club then my eyes fell on her, Harper.

I moved over to the other side of the bar wanting to be closer to her then ever before. She was an effortlessly mixture of edgy and sexy dressed in a tight little short, pink crop top and leather jacket.

Before I could get to her she was taken to the dance floor with some of her girlfriend's. The music was thick and heavy through the speakers. She started dancing very carefree but yet seductively.

I moved next to her, when she saw me she smiled dancing on me, this small act of hers drove me wild.

I placed my hand on her waist dancing even closer to her if that is possible. She turned around and planted a small kiss on the base of my neck.

"Let's get out of here."

I whispered in a low growl, she looked at me and nodded before leading the way out if the club, we got in the back of my limo.

She grabbed the back of my head, pulling me closer to her. She planted her lips on mine, the kiss was slow and passionate, we drove over a speed bump and she used this opportunity to nibble my lower lip.

We only broke a part to take a breath. She looked away her face turning a bright red. She scooted away a bit before looking at me.

"I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me. I just had to kiss you again, you keep running around in my head. I missed you so much these last few months"

I kissed her forehead.

"Harper, I will protect you, I will care for you, and I'll do whatever you want me to just to make you happy."

Her only response was to kiss me once again. But hey I'm not complaining.
