The Game

Day X had come. The Quidditch match Gryffindor and Slytherin. Harrison tried his best to seem calm but he was just as nervous as every time. At the same time, he couldn't wait for the game to start. There was no one on an equal level to him when it came to Quidditch.

All seven players were assembled in the Gryffindor changing room.

Harrison cleared his throat to gain their attention: "Alright everyone. This is it-"

"Our chance", Sea carried on.

"Our chance at showing them the best game they've ever seen", one of the chasers said.

Harrison shook his head: "Would you just shut up for a minute? We've trained really hard and I know that I've pushed all of you quite a bit but our team has never been better. We have three chasers, who think as if they'd be one, two beaters, who are more dangerous than the Bludgers themselves and a keeper, who knows how to keep the hoops clean!"

"And we have you, Harrison Pendrake, the seeker who catches every snitch", Sea proclaimed.

"And me", Harrison nodded, "alright, let's go and kick some Slytherin asses."

The team started cheering, then they each grabbed their broom and left the changing rooms to meet the Slytherin team on the pitch.

"You all know the rules, I want to see a nice and fair game, understood?", the Coach looked around, all players nodded in response, "Good. Team captains?"

Harrison stepped forward to shake hands with the Slytherin team captain, both pressing each others hand firmer than necessary.

"Mount your brooms, please", the Coach blew her whistle and fifteen brooms shot up into the air. Harrison stayed a little higher than the rest of his team, as usual. He was tempted to look for Dolan in the crowd (did he actually come?) but he knew, he wouldn't be able to find him.

He heard the commentator, a Hufflepuff boy, shout: "Ten points for Gryffindor!" and couldn't help smiling.

Harrison kept on searching the air below him to catch a glimpse of the Golden Snitch as did the Slytherin seeker. Suddenly, the Slytherin seeker began flying down towards the ground. Did he see the snitch? Or was it just a bluff?, Harrison wondered, following him at a fast speed. Then he saw it. The snitch, just a few feet above the ground, floating in the air. Harrison grabbed his broom tighter, picking up even more speed. He dodged a Slytherin chaser coming his way, he was next to the other seeker now, they were flying head to head, both had their arms stretched out to grab the tiny golden ball when a Bludger came from Harrison's left side. He abruptly stopped and leaned back to avoid the impact.

The Slytherin seeker, still next to him, got less lucky. The Bludger crashed into his broom, causing him to trundle away, trying to regain control of his broom. In all the action and excitement, the snitch was gone.

Harrison ascended slowly, flying circles, avoiding the other players, again searching for the snitch. Soon he was above the game, the Slytherin seeker joining him.

Harrison grinned at the next three goals by his team and flinched at the two that were scored by the Slytherins.

There! A reflection, a hint of gold rushing through the air. The snitch! Harrison was after it in an instant, the Slytherin seeker close behind. He stretched out his hand. The snitch made an unexpected turn, higher up in the air, both seekers following, Harrison just an inch closer and then...

"A hundred and fifty points for Gryffindor! Pendrake caught the snitch in the thirty-sixth Minute. What a catch! Gryffindor wins, two-hundred and ten points to seventy."
