One year ago.

Jacobs house was just how I had pictured it to be. Huge.

My palms were sweaty and hot as I approached the big elaborate front door, and I prayed that I wouldn't appear as nervous as I really was.

I had worn Juliette's skirt and a long cardigan, but I immediately regretted it as I walked across the snow covered steps onto their porch.

I turned around, ready to back out, unsure if the butterflies in my stomach were from nerves or excitement. My moms car was already driving off, so I couldn't turn back.

"You must be Aurora," I hear a voice from behind me and I whip around, finding myself face to face with a tall blonde woman in a long red dress.

I grasp for words, praying that I wouldn't not say something stupid. "Y-yes."

She gave me a tight yet warm smile. "Nice to meet you," she says, extending her hand towards mine. "Jacob has told me a lot about you."

This makes me smile. He talked about me. I shake her hand as firmly as I can, trying not to shake from the cold.

"Come in," she puts a hand on my back and directs me inside. I step inside, relieved by the warm air that suddenly surrounded me. "Jacob! Your friend is here..."

"One second!" Jacobs voice echoes through the mansion. Just the sound of his voice sent tingles down my spine.

There is a thumping on the large marble stairs, but before I can see Jacob, a man walks towards me, adjusting the sleeves of his jacket. "Who's this?" He looks at his wife, an eyebrow slightly raised.

She walks towards her husband, looping her arm through his. He stares at me and I felt my cheeks start to burn.

"This is Aurora, honey," she informs him. "Jacobs friend."

I nod enthusiastically, even though she doesn't seem to be making the conversation any less awkward.

"Ah, okay," he gives me a small smile.

"You can call me Rory," I say, craning my head around the couple to the stairs, where I heard Jacob coming closer.

"It's always nice to meet Jacob's friends," he tells me, but he is cut off rather abruptly.

"Rory is my girlfriend, dad," Jacob walks to stand next to his father.

My heart stops. Girlfriend? Could we officially say that now? I liked the sound of it.

His dad clears his throat. "Right, sorry."

"We should be going, Daniel," Jacobs mom starts to walk towards the door, dragging her husband with her. "Behave," she looks at us with a stern face, but her eyes are playful.

After they leave, I let out a sigh of relief.

I look up to see that Jacob is staring at me, his hands in the pockets of his jeans.

"Your mom is really nice," I say, breaking the silence like a bull in a china shop.

He chuckles, taking a step closer to me. "Not my dad?"

I look down at my toes, embarrassed. "No... I mean- I guess-"

Jacob breaks out into a full laugh. "I'm just kidding. I know he seems pretty intimidating, but once you get to know him you'll like him."

I grin, relief spreading throughout my whole body. "Okay."

An hour later, everything had fallen into place. I'm not going to lie and say that it was super easy to be around him, like we had been best friends since we were little, but it wasn't awkward at all. We sat on his huge leather couch down in his movie theatre in his basement, on our third batch of popcorn when I felt it- his eyes on me.

I smiled wickedly, keeping my eyes glued to the television screen, avoiding his eyes. My heart beat faster and faster in my chest by the second, but I tried to hide my excitement as he scooted closer to me on the couch, until we were touching.

The movie was coming to an end, and all I could think of was what was going to happen when it was finished.

His fingers traveled along mine playfully, and I let him weave them between mine, my skin burning.

The credits appeared on the screen and I gulped, turning to look at him.

His eyes met mine and I bit my lip out of habit. He smiled, leaning in closer to me. I pushed my face towards his, closing my eyes. And then there was no more space between us.

He kissed my slowly, wrapping his arm around me, pulling me to his chest. I rested my hand on his abdomen, bringing him towards me by the fabric of his shirt.

A small laugh escaped my lips as he kissed me more hungrily, dragging his hands down to my waist. I ran my hands through his shaggy hair, tugging slightly, mostly to keep me steady. Heat coursed through my veins, tingles traveled around my skin.

Jacob pulled me on top of him, and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He put his hands on my shoulders, pushing my cardigan down to my sides.

This was our second kiss, but it felt like the first. All of the thoughts or worries I had once considered in my head when I was here slipped away as he moved his lips to my jaw, sending shivers down my spine. I breathed as smoothly as I could as his lips moved lower, to my neck. He pushed me off of him, letting my back hit the surface of the couch. He got on top of me, kissing me with so much passion that my head started to spin. My neck burned as his lips connected with my skin.

I stared up at the ceiling, and even though I tried not to, I couldn't help but wonder what Jules and Tucker were doing.

They were probably at the diner, ordering burgers and cherry cokes. They would probably go somewhere fun, then tell me about it when I got back.

Jacobs body moved against mine slowly as he pulled my hands above my head, lacing his fingers through mine once again. I wondered how many times he had done this.

Suddenly he pulled away, looking into my eyes. I probably looked like a mess, but I didn't care. "I love you," he whispers, looking down at my lips.

I didn't know what to say. My lips just couldn't seem to form those exact words, and I wasn't sure why. "I know," was all I could manage. He seemed satisfied, kissing me again.

I gasped at the sudden connection, melting into him. My hands traveled to his waist and I dug the tips of my fingers into his skin.

Time seems to stand still and I am happier than I have been in a while, glad that this moment could last for what felt like forever.
