Times Have Changed

Hey guys The Quinnster here with another chapter. In the last chapter we find out at the end that the parents are sober. This seems too good to be true to Ziggy. So anyways always vote,like, and share my story around.

Zaina was upstairs playing with her toys when her dad, Mark, arrived home.

"Honey I'm home!" He says, hoping his wife replies. But instead of his wife, it was Zaina who hears him, and she gets up running downstairs excitedly.

"Daddy...Daddy." She yells out, running into his open arms hugging him.

"Hey sweetie, how was the rest of your day?" He replies hugging back.

Ziggy didn't hear the conversation because he had his headphones on listening to music while working on his homework. A few moments later, Zaina walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.

"Ziggy, daddy's home aren't you gonna welcome him?" Ziggy glanced up at her and nodded. As he stood up, he took his headphones off and walked over to where Zaina and their dad were standing.

"Hey dad, how was work?" Mark smiles at them, then replies,

"It was busy and exhausting, so after I eat dinner I'm gonna head to bed." He walks into the kitchen.

Ziggy follows his dad then speaks up, leaning on the counter, "Would you like me to make you something to eat? That way you can relax and settle in." Mark takes a minute to think and turns around.

"That would be great. Zig, by the way, where's your mother?" he says, walking to the living room.

"She looked pretty tired when she got home, so I suggested that she take a nap." Ziggy replies.

"Alright dad, I'll be right back with your food.." Ziggy responds, walking off to the kitchen.

Ziggy starts by grabbing a frying pan from the cabinet. He then goes into the fridge and grabs bacon,hamburger meat, and cheese. The two meats were two of Mark's favorite foods. Ziggy planned to make cheese-stuffed bacon-wrapped meatballs. He starts preparing the meatballs and wraps the bacon around them. He then grabs some toothpicks to pin them, keeping it together. As the pan heats up, he wonders if everyday is gonna be like this.

The pan gets hot enough, and he places the meatballs in it, and all he hears is the sizzle of the meat. He turns the heat down to medium and starts making some vegetables to go with dinner. A few moments later he takes the meatballs out and pats them down with a paper towel to dry up some of the grease. He starts playing all the food for everyone. Ziggy calls out.

"Hey guys dinner is ready, hope you enjoy it. I worked really hard on this."

Zaina is the first to come in and look at the food.

"Wow, this looks amazing Zig." She sits down, waiting patiently for their parents. Mark and Carmen walk down wearing pajamas and a robe. Glancing at the food, everyone's stomachs grumbled loudly, indicating they were hungry.
