Kakyoin tried to muffle a yawn. It had been a long couple of days, and the lack of sleep and heightened emotions had drained him pretty much empty.
"Do you have a place to stay the night?" It seemed that despite Kakyoin's efforts to hide it, Jotaro had noticed how tired he was.
"No, I guess that would be helpful." Kakyoin chuckled. "The Speedwagon Foundation can probably find me something "
Jotaro looked down. "I have extra room at the hotel I'm staying at, if you would prefer that." Kakyoin smiled. Last time they had shared a room was during their trip to Egypt.
"Yea, I think I'd like that."
The hotel room was large, with big windows and a few paintings hanging on the walls. Papers were scattered everywhere, Kakyoin suspected there were more on the floor than on the desk itself, and books ranging to crime history to marine biology were stacked everywhere.
"Sorry about the mess." Jotaro said apologetically. "I'm not the best at staying neat."
Kakyoin smiled. "I don't mind." It was true, he didn't. He suspected that it would be this messy and was glad to know the Jotaro he was familiar with hadn't changed. Too tired to talk, he stumbled over to the bed and flopped down onto it, falling asleep almost instantly.
It seemed like he had only slept for a few minutes when Kakyoin jolted awake. It was still dark, the shadows disorienting him for a minute before he remembered where he was. Looking over he saw Jotaro, staring up at the ceiling. He opened his mouth to say something but then he noticed his friend was shaking.
"Did you have a nightmare?" Kakyoin asked quietly. Jotaro nodded, his eyes still fixed upwards.
"Ever since our journey I've been waking up like this-" Jotaro let in a shaky breath. "I remember them; Avdol, Iggy, and you…" He looked over and Kakyoin saw something shine on his face. He realized he was crying. Gently, he clasped Jotaro's hand in his.
"Its okay, I'm alive. I'm here." Slowly Jotaro's breathing returned to normal, then to the slow, even rhythm of sleep. Kakyoin waited a few more minutes before he drifted off as well, still holding on to his friend's hand.Josuke woke up late, as he felt he deserved to on the weekends. He lay face-up on his bed, enjoying the warmth of the sunlight that streamed through his window. He missed this simpleness- after Jotaro's arrival, everything had become more complicated, and he barely had any time to himself anymore. He sighed, and, yawning loudly, rolled out of bed and began to prepare for the day.
Twenty minutes later and he was on the doorstep of Koichi's house, Okuyasu standing next to him. They had a lot to get done today. It took about three doorbell rings, but their small friend finally came to the door, groggy and rubbing his eyes.
"PLEASE don't tell me what I think your going to tell me…" he sighed.
"Don't worry, it's not that bad. Jotaro just wanted to meet up with us and explain the new plan now that Kakyoin's here." Koichi brightened up, but his expression fell again when Josuke added "The other mission will come later."Jotaro had told them to meet him at a small park by the ocean. When they arrived at the spot, they found him and Kakyoin already there. He stood up from where he was sitting on a bench when he saw them approaching. "Good, your here. Now lets go over the plan."
The plan was very simple: they were all to keep on the lookout for anyone suspicious. Kakyoin had learned from Jotaro that the murders were lacking evidence, as the killer left no traces to follow. "That means his killing methods are not the normal ways most serial killers go about it." He said.
"Which means are target is most likely a stand user." Jotaro concluded."This makes things more dangerous, both for us and civilians. We don't know how powerful his stand is, or how ruthless its user is, and I know from experience that oftentimes enemies aren't concerned over bystander's safety"
"Luckily my stand is good for this kind of situation." Kakyoin chimed in, drawing out Hierophant. Josuke looked un admiration at the sleek green stand as it swirled around its user. "Like Joseph's Hermit Purple, Hierophant is able to track things, but in a different way. Its feelers are able to pick up the slightest movement, and can pull things into its grasp. If we lay a trap, we'll be able to take care of killer without putting any civilian lives in danger."
"Where do we fit in to all this?" Okuyasu asked. "It seems like you've got things pretty much figured out already."
"Before we can trap the killer we have to find him first." Jotaro said darkly. "This is where it gets dangerous, and we're going to need as much help from you three as possible. You may be young, but you are all stand users and there's a responsibility that comes with that."
Josuke nodded, and even Koichi stood a bit taller. They hadn't known Jotaro for a terribly long time, but they knew him enough that his trust was not a small thing.
"I'll explain exactly what we need to do, and then we should get started." Kakyoin said. "The sooner this is all done, the better."Hey, its me! I hadn't really expected to continue this, but because it seems that a fair amount of people (for me, at least) want it to keep going I guess I'll continue! A quick warning though- my publishing is probably going to be inconsistent, as I'm busy with school work as well as other stuff. ALSO this fic is just going to get angstier as it goes along, so if you don't like that kind if stuff then you may not want to keep reading. Thank you to everyone who posted a supportive comment, they make me really happy!
