Alpha, But Only By Two Hours

Chapter 3

(Katerina’s p.o.v)

All I could see was green, forest green to be exact. ‘My god, his eyes are beautiful’ I thought to myself as I continued to stare. My breathing hitched and I felt the famous pull that my mother used to always explain to me when I was a child. The pull was so strong that I instinctively gripped the edge of the table in order to stop myself from claiming him right here in the kitchen in front of everyone.  Lex gave me a confused look from across the table, his eyes asking if I was ok. Little did he know that I was more than ok, I was flying fairly fucking high with no mind to come down anytime soon, and that was what scared me so much. I’d never felt this type of attraction for a man before, it almost felt unnatural, but at the same time it felt like I was finally home. More than anything I wanted to race into his arms and get lost in his scent, but I couldn’t do that, not when we both had a ceremony to attend in just a couple of hours’ time. But god was it tempting.

“Katerina? The Alpha’s daughter?”

I nearly fell off my chair when I heard my name roll of his tongue. It sounded like magic, if magic even had a sound, and my heart skipped a beat when he took another step towards me. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart, and it was the biggest mistake I had ever made. My eyes rolled into the back of my head as I tasted his scent on my tongue, my breathing becoming shallow and ragged.

“Yes, that would be me”

My voice was tense but there was also a breathlessness to it that almost had me shying away with embarrassment. Christ how much more hormonal could I get? I had to get out of this room, before I made a complete fool of myself, by acting out on my wolf’s urges. I closed my eyes and made one last attempt at somewhat controlling myself before I opened them again. I knew that they were pitch black, my control on my humanity was too far gone and I was acting on complete primal instinct. My eyes snapped to Lex as he stood to make his way over to me. In the back of my mind I knew that he was only concerned about me, with him being my twin and soon to be Beta, it was only instinct that he make sure his Alpha was ok, but my wolf had control of my body at this particular point in time and her seeing any movement made by someone else toward her mate, in rational light was like thinking it was going to suddenly piss down rain in the middle of a drought, very fucking rare.

Lex continued to make his slow approach around the table and every time he took a step toward me I took one back, closer to my mate. As soon as my back touched his chest a growl resounded throughout the room, and I couldn’t help but purr at the feel of his body vibrating against my own. The feel of his hard muscles, made me wish the clothing that was separating us would disappear and as soon as his arms wound around my waist and somehow managed to pull me even closer to him, I thought I would die. Lex though, still didn’t seem to take the hint. He continued to walk towards me in an almost hesitant fashion, before I snapped.

The arms around my waist tore apart as soon as I lunged for Lex. In the next instant both Sam and Chase were on either side of me and were grasping me by my arms as they forced me to the ground. My growls shook the walls as I felt everyone in the room stare at me in fear, I could smell it consuming the room as Lex kneeled down in front of me and grasped my head in his hands.

“Sis, what the fuck is wrong with you!”
