A/N~ This story is set in 5th year, well, it is currently a couple of months before Hogwarts begins.

"So I'm a cat."

Draco blinked up at them all. He was surprisingly calm about this all. They had told him he was a Neko, some sort of cat creature. He had cat ears as well a tail, and he had found out he was able to turn his hands to cat paws.

"No, no. You're a-"

"Neko. You said that about fifty times," Draco remarked dryly.

Madam Pomfrey sighed. "We're just concerned, that's all."

"Narcissa, Lucius, can I speak to your son alone for a moment?"

Lucius, who was sitting next to Narcissa, fake concern laced through his features, nodded, Narcissa doing the same. They both walked towards the door. As Lucius walked past Draco, he told him, "Don't think you're off the hook for earlier, just because this," he motioned at Draco, "happened." He spoke in a tone just loud enough for Draco to hear, who wrenched his eyes shut in fear.

As the door shut behind them, Draco opened his eyes. "What did you want to speak to me about?"

Madam Pomfrey looked curious about what his father had said. She had a theory but soon pinned it as just that; a theory.

"You have a unique condition called Hanahaki,"

"Hana what now?" Draco questioned, a frown playing on his face.

"Hanahaki," replied Pomfrey. "It's a condition that you get when you suffer from...

"How do I put this... unrequited love. You start coughing up flowers."

Draco burst out laughing.

"Flowers? Love? And why exactly would you think I would—" his features contorted into an expression of disgust and slight amusement "—love somebody?"

Madam Pomfrey sighed in relief. "Thank Merlin!"

Draco looked at her, confused. She quickly regained her professionalism. "The diagnostic charms aren't quite working; they haven't been, since the Triwizard Tournament. The Goblet messed with Hogwarts' magic."

"Okay, and what does this have to do with my 'disease'?"

Madam Pomfrey spoke as if she was speaking to a two-year-old. "As long as you don't have an unrequited love, the diagnostic was wrong."

Draco looked down guiltily. "Actua—"

And then it happened.

It hurt. It hurt so bad. He couldn't breathe. Oh, Merlin, he was going to die.

Madam Pomfrey examined Draco. He was coughing; she assumed this was a side effect of his Neko transformation.

As she was going to grab the necessary potions, she saw something out of the corner of her eye.

A flower petal.
