James’s P.O.V

My nerves should be high right now but surprisingly I am utterly calm. Today was the day Kyle became the it man, top dog, literally. He would be my Alpha. I would be completely under his control, although I haven’t been a free man the last couple of days. I lay in my cell, same old same old. I was being patient; I knew Kyle would bring me to the ceremony over the past couple of days I have been able to get in his mind lately. He would bring me there to rub it in? Whatever his childish mind can think of, being small and all. I just couldn’t help but remember the days Fiona and I could care less. Heck I’m pretty sure Fiona didn’t even the previous Alpha’s name. We would just train, goof off, or do our normal patrols.

I remember the conversations we would always have, her coming up with clever and sick plans that she knew she wouldn’t carry out. We were watching a romantic comedy one day, it was the ending the big wedding. She was sitting beside me and started snickering when the bride threw the bouquet. I shot her a look and she explained through laughs, “If I were to get married my bouquet would be roses, but I would keep the thorns on them,” she laughed again before continuing. “All those ladies would be throwing elbows and the winner would get scream!” She cackled in laughter obviously picturing the scene in her head as she clutched her stomachs and rolled of the couch. “They would be so shocked,” she gasped in-between laughs and I started to laugh with her shaking my head. Only she would want that for her wedding, hurting her bridesmaids and all of the single ladies.

I remember once she told me if she ever had a kid their middle name would be Trouble, so they wouldn’t be lying in saying ‘well my middle names trouble.’ I thought it was clever and could see her doing just that, but the sad thing was she didn’t see it. She thought she was ever banned from that future, unless she found a human lover which she claimed ‘would suck.’

More and more memories of her and her ways of thinking, making boring things entertaining, I hadn’t seen her in about two weeks, the most I had ever been away from her was a week and even then it was torture, but now it was almost unbearable I missed her so much. I wondered if she was racing here right now, probably grumbling the whole way saying, ‘I was wrecking her vacation,’ or ‘that princess always needs rescuing’. My thoughts flashed to the rogue she had been seen with, he better not have laid a hand on her, but if he had she would have bail right after beating him up.

A smile had formed on my face all the while of thinking about her and her ways. I felt so mature without her, I needed her. My thoughts were ripped as I heard oncoming footsteps from above me, and I knew it was Kyle. I was a little excited about getting out of the there, to be able to see the sun. Jolly whistling was heard right before the door to the cell room burst open and I smiling Kyle waltzed in. “Things were good before but now they are better, I can’t believe this turn of the event.” I was used to him rambling on about things that I had no clue as to what he was talking about. I knew he did it to try to get under my skin but I didn’t care because I knew he would tell me like an excited school girl. His grin couldn’t be bigger if he tried as he continued talking, “Your getting out today James, then you will only be in here for a little longer, but you’ll have some company by  the end of the day.” His eyes twinkled as he said that, I would have thought he were talking about getting a video game or something but I knew he was talking about a twisted step in gaining Fiona and all power. “You will get to come out at the crowning of the title, I’m sure you will be surprised. I was when the plan turned in this direction too.” He smiled even more which I didn’t think was possible, I wondered what could have happened. “Well, see you then James, and have a nice rest of the day.” He nodded his head in a polite matter which made me more upset than anything else he had ever done. Then in a matter of seconds my presence was the only thing with me once again, well besides boredom and curiosity.
