Assalam Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu everyone! So this is a bit of a surprise. We've decided to choose a "Poetry Special Mention Award" for The Rahma Awards 2019!
Initially, it was supposed to be chosen by the judges, but people have become busy and the task fell on @miss_hummingbird92
Thankfully, she already had a candidate in mind;
@ibnkhalid : for his book "I, the foggy realm" + other poems in "Brainwaves".
We've allotted the scored as below:
Title: 9/10
Cover: 7/10
Content: 10/10
Rating: 18/20

And here we are, ready with the interview.

J: Assalam Alaykum! How are you?
N: Wa alaikkumussalam wa rahmah. Alhamdulillah, great! How are you?
J: Alhamdulillah, I'm okay. Let's start with the basics, then! Name. Age. Place... Or the gist of it.
N: Okay. Hello Everyone! My name is Ibn Khalid. Or you could call me NeO, something I call my conscience. Age; unnecessary, really. Although I am as patriotic as it comes, my views on some random guy drawing random lines on a map and dividing people on their idea of how countries must exist might not be a pleasing one to most. I like to think of the world more holistically. So my answer is best suited to what I feel, when I say I am from this floating piece of dirt, the transient illusion.
J: Basically; NeO, from The Transient Ilusion. What's it like over there?
N: It's not very different from where you and every other human being resides. Who knows, we might even be living in the same niche. The world is what you make of it. I have come to understand how temporary everything around me is. Rather than YOLOing your way into life the conventional way, taking everything for granted and living the illusion, it's the transience of everything, that makes me appreciate life more.
[Editor's Note (H): Ahh, good one. Ma Shaa Allah.]
J: Favourite colour, food and culture?
N: Favourite colors would be black / grey / white. And olive green. Food would be Mutton Matfoon cooked with potatoes and tomatoes. As for the culture, the one that Islam teaches us.
J: How do you feel about being picked for the "Poetry Special Mention 2019 Award"?
N: I feel honoured to have been selected. Thank you for doing this and I appreciate all the teamwork involved to create such a positive thing on Wattpad. May Allah reward the people and their efforts behind the scenes to make the whole thing work.
J: Ameen, Ma Shaa Allah. What's your opinion on your poetry?
N: Utterly mediocre. I guess you can say that's because it's usually hard for people to enjoy their own craft. Nevertheless, I have a hard time publishing what I compose. It's not until somebody comes by and genuinely compliments the work, I feel satisfied. It's one of the reasons as to why I am motivated to publish more.
