"Han Jisung?" The substitute teacher scanned the rows of unfamiliar teens ahead of him trying to match name to face.
"That's me," Jisung raised his hand.
"You're wanted in the principals office."
Great, was the first thing that had come to Jisung's mind after hearing those words. He'd never been to the principals office in the two years that he's been in that school and no, it's not because he's a goody two-shoes. It's just that fact that he's careful in the things he does, as in he doesn't get caught and he didn't think he ever would, until now. But, Jisung hadn't done anything wrong in the past few days, which confused him even more than before. Instead of dwelling on it, he stood up and walked out of his classroom and into the hallway.
The walk to the principals office was quick, after all, Jisung didn't have to weave his way through a hallway full of other pupils, as they were all in lessons.
"Han Jisung?" A woman at a desk had asked as soon as Jisung had walked into the reception area. He didn't give a verbal response, just a nod of his head to clarify that it was in-fact him. "The principal will see you soon, he's just on the phone to a parent. You can sit over there."
She had pointed to a seating area that was just next to a big wooden door, which somehow managed to look intimidating, with the words "principals office" etched into a metal plaque stuck on it. However, the boy that was already sitting on one of the seats made Jisung want to avoid that area as much as possible.
Lee Minho. it was clear that he had been in a fight, anyone could tell you that by seeing the various bruises and cuts on his face. He was the cliché 'Bad boy', guess you could getting into fights was his 'thing' and Jisung hated it. He wanted nothing to do with the boy. It's not like he's never been in a fight before, Jisung had been in a few throughout his life. But that's the thing, Minho gets into more than a few fights in just a week.
But instead of making a fuss at the woman behind the desk, who probably wanted to go home just as much as the majority of the kids here including Jisung, he walked towards a seat (the furthest away from the beaten boy) and sat down.
"I'm surprised," the boy opposite of him spoke up and it was almost impossible for Jisung to stop himself from rolling his eyes. Almost. "Your boyfriend can actually fight."
"What?" Jisung was ashamed of how different his voice sounded than usual, he just hoped that Minho hadn't noticed, after all he's never really spoken to him before.
"Oh, you don't know? I thought i'd be half way around the school by now," he paused and pointed at his face, "this is your boyfriends doing."
Before Jisung could reply, the 'intimidating' door opened and the principal emerged from the room and immediately made eye-contact with Jisung. "Come inside."
Jisung didn't hesitate to stand up and follow the principal, hearing snickers from behind him, he debated sticking his middle finger up, but quickly remembered the woman at the desk and decided against it.
"I'm sure you know why you're here," The stern voice of the principal made it's way through the air and into Jisung ears. He pointed to the seat in front of his desk and Jisung followed the silent command and sat down.
"Not really, I know what this is about, but not why you need to talk to me." Jisung said and he was genuinely curious as to why any of this had anything to do with him, because he was quite positive it didn't.
"Well, it has come to my attention that you and Byungjoon are in a relationship."
"We are."
Still no idea.
"Do you have any idea as to what he could've done or said to cause this fight?" The principals examined Jisungs face, clearly trying to find the answer hidden in his features, but the truth was Jisung didn't know the answer to his question.
"No, why don't you just ask Byungjoon?"
"Byungjoon has been sent home because of his injuries," He clarified and as much as Jisung felt like he should've cared, he didn't.
Byungjoon and Jisung hadn't been spending as much time together as they used to these past two weeks. They've been arguing a lot and Jisung thought that it was best they spent less time hanging out. To tell the truth, Jisung was quick to get scared of his boyfriend when they fought. No, he'd never hit him, but Jisung couldn't deny it, he feared that one day Byungjoon would get too angry. The sound of the last bell of the day broke Jisung from his thoughts and he now just wanted to leave the chair he was sitting in.
"I'm sorry sir, I can't tell you anything, but are you even sure he said anything? I mean it's Lee Minho we're talking about, how many fights has he been in this week alone?" Jisung found himself trying to speed up the conversation, which meant he needed to put the blame on someone and he obviously wasn't going to blame his boyfriend. "I hope you're going to do something about him by the way."
"You could be right and don't worry I've already decided to suspend him for two days and if you're sure you can't tell my anything, then toy can leave." The principal gave him a quick smile and waited for Jisung either leave or stay, just as he was about to open the door he added, "Please tell Minho that he can come in."
To which he replied with a nod.
Jisung opened the door and quickly stepped outside to find Minho standing directly ahead of him. He had definitely been listening to them. He glanced over at the desk expecting the same woman from before to be sitting there, wondering why she hadn't caught him, but the chair was empty.
"She left just after you went inside," Minho said as if he read Jisung's mind, "And don't worry. I'm not mad that you blamed me, just know, he deserved it."
"I'm not worried and I doubt it." Jisung shot the boy a disgusted look, but took the time to examine him.
Honestly, he looked a mess. He had dried blood on his cheek and lower lip and a bruise forming on his jaw. He knew for a fact that Minho was in pain, how could he not be? He guessed the older was just good at hiding it by now.
"Trust me, you should see him," Minho smirked and walked past Jisung and into the office.
