"Okay, Luigi. This crystal is..."

"In short, it's a translator crystal. It allows its wearer to understand wolves no matter what language they speak, including the universal wolf talk. Some mistaken the crystals for the one of legend, but only the purest heart can determine if a translator crystal can make a human into an artificial werewolf... or an artificial human if the owner is a werewolf."

"And what is an artificial werewolf? How about an artificial human?"

"Both are pretty much the classic werewolf. Half-human, half-wolf, all monster if provoked."

"Excellent. You learn fast, Luigi. Now let's see if you c'n take on the werewolf community today."

"What do you mean?"

Stephanie put the crystal around Luigi's neck and tucked it under his green shirt.

"What I mean is that we're gettin' ya new clothes. You can't keep wearing the same overalls 'n' shirt 24/7 an' even if I c'n make ya new ones, I gotta make sure I got a life apart from Twitch."

"Stephanie..."

"Call me Steph, okay? Also, if you're gonna say that I don't have to, then you c'n shut it right then an' there. I wanna get you new clothes an' make you feel comfortable. Not to mention that when I go shoppin' I get a little carried away so I need someone to keep an eye on me."

Luigi chuckled as he took the crystal out from his shirt. He could see straight through the small gem as it shined in the light...

Call him crazy, but he could've sworn it had a small green glow in his gloved hands...

He just thought he was seeing things so he shrugged and put it back under his shirt. Speaking of which...

"Stephanie," he said as he closed the front door. To their luck, the mall was close by. "I have to hide the crystal because of the misunderstanding, don't I?"

"That an' another misunderstandin'. Some believe that the translators are the legend while others think it's the curse. One pure of heart c'n find the pure crystal while the cruelest c'n find the tainted."

"What happens if the cruelest finds the tainted? Would werewolves turn into bloodhounds?"

"Almost. If the cruelest were to find the crystal tainted red AND manage to make 1,000 werewolves shed even a single drop of blood, The Blood Hound will come an' make it rain red. It's practically doomsday unless the purest had been found prior."

"How do we know if the purest had been found?"

"The pure crystal will turn green."

Luigi was contemplating on whether or not to tell Stephanie about what he saw a little while ago. A part of him thought he saw the crystal turn green, but he did remember that he couldn't sleep the night before after a... "weird" dream he had last night... Yeah, let's go with that.

He respected Stephanie's beliefs, but he didn't quite believe in legends unless there's proof and a simple story wasn't enough.

In hindsight, maybe taking Luigi to a strip mall wasn't such a good idea since there were a lot of humans and werewolves, but he had to get comfortable with both sides if he was going to survive in a world of humans and werewolves.
