'oh gosh...'

My anxiety was shooting through the roof as I walked in the gym. It was huge and there were a lot of people there. Well... More than I wanted to be. It was the whole team of Karasuno and even though I had already signed into the club and went to trainings before, I never really talked to anyone except for Daichi, since he helped me learn some things.

Today the coach told me we'll be playing a match against each other and he's going to put me on the court. I was extremely anxious because of it, not thinking I'm good enough to play and worrying that I'm going to let my team down by being a dumbass. I took a deep breath in a desperate attempt to calm my nerves. Spoiler alert, it didn't work.

Ennoshita's POV

I saw Y/n from across the court. He seemed to be internally freaking out and I wanted to go there and comfort him however I could. I have been friends with him before he joined the club and I actually recommended volleyball to him. It sometimes annoys me that he isn't sure of his abilities a lot of the time and he seems to worry at anything. I can't blame him though because I do the same thing sometimes.

My feet started taking me towards the h/c male but I was stopped by our captain. "EVERYONE, GATHER AROUND!" He screamed loudly so that everyone could hear him. I looked at the boy I was trying to reach and saw him jogging towards us, a worried look on his face. I would never admit it out loud, but all I wanted to do now was hold him close and tell him it was going to be alright. Of course, I couldn't because I was pretty sure he didn't swing that way. Or at least my way.

"We'll be having a match between the second and first years. Ennoshita, Y/n and Kageyama are the first team and the second is Tsukishima, Hinata and Tanaka." Daichi said. I wasn't really sure where he was going with this. Why did he split up Hinata and Kageyama- oh... He was trying to see how Hinata would do on his own for the 100th time this week.

Y/n jogged to my side and stayed silent. I noticed his stiff state and held his hand, squeezing it slightly in an attempt to calm him down. It seemed to work as he relaxed. We got onto the court into our positions.

Y/n's POV

The moment Enno let go of my hand my anxiety started to go up a few levels again but I felt safe with him. For some reason the anxiety didn't come back as strong as before. I looked at the brunette and immediately calmed down. I felt safe with him on the court.. damn... I really started falling for him, didn't I?

Before I could finish my sentence, he turned to me.

"I'll be right here the whole time." He smiled at me with the most beautiful smile I absolutely adore. I blushed and smiled back shyly. "Thanks.."

Enno is extremely underrated and I WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS!! anyway here's an adorable oneshot in which the last part actually happened to me (just that my crush doesn't like me back ಥ‿ಥ )
