So it's here.

Tomioka Giyu left light footsteps in his wake, a mission as his retaining thought while he ran through the snowy forest.

Investigations were reported from the Corp through his Kasugai Crow that a demon, told to be from under Kibutsuji Muzan's elite group, the Moon Demons, was within the area. Tomioka was sent to investigate the area and eliminate the demon.

A cry ripped through the eerie silence in the forest, attracting Tomioka's attention to the noise. Narrowing his eyes and keeping a hand on his sword sheath, Tomioka sprinted faster hoping to save the victim and slay the demon that was terrorising the area.

Ahead, he spotted two figures. One male and one female. The female, the one who screamed, was holding the male in place by holding him from the back. The male, who was most likely the demon, was struggling in response, flailing his head back and forth while also waving his arms around to break free from the female's hold; a sign of a newly demonic transformation.

But... The arrangement in front was confusing.

Wasn't the girl screaming because this... demon was harming her?

Tomioka assessed the scene that was growing closer in clarity.

What is she doing? Why is she holding him when she knows he's going to hurt her?

Keeping this mindset, he unsheathed his sword, jumping when close enough to deliver a blow from above. The female seems to sense him drawing closer, as she rolled out of the way with the demon still in her embrace. Tomioka struck down, his katana sliced through the female's bun, effectively cutting through long locks and cutting them short.

When Tomioka stood from his position after striking where they once were, he immediately shifted his attention to the young female who was looking at him in fear, holding the demon closer to her embrace.

Tomioka paid close attention to the demon that was... oddly human-like in terms of features and behaviour; the demon was oddly quiet. Normally, they would grow wild and animalistic after they have newly transformed or nearby a human. Another feature he noticed was that the demon's eyes were not slitted or pale; blank, dark maroon eyes stared at the slayer that was in front of him.

If Tomioka wasn't a slayer, he would have thought that they were another human. However, only a slit of an open mouth revealed sharp fangs meant for tearing through raw flesh. This odd boy... He transformed as a demon, yet retains features only humans have that demons simply do not possess.

"Nii-chan?" The female human seems to think so as well, turning her attention away from Tomioka to pay attention to the demon in her arms, "Nii-chan... Can- Can you see me?"

The demon was quiet, not even twitching a muscle like newly transformed demons would do when the human girl, his sister's hand, made contact with his dark, slightly long burgundy locks. He didn't even flinch when the sister was practically crying into his ear, forcing his head to look at her as he only blankly stared back.

For a demon, this action would have irritated them and they would have already attacked the closest thing. But this...

"Nii-chan...?"

The human sister stuttered slightly in shock. And Tomioka couldn't blame her for the sudden realisation. This current situation was getting dire.

This demon not only resembles more of a human than a demon, but it seems like his sight has been affected greatly. This would have made my job easier but...
