"Micah and Richard have been in contact." Quinn looked up from tending to one of the many wounds Cenric had recieved during the battle for their home. He was increasingly out of control and agitated and kept on opening them up again. As it was he could barely sit still for her ministrations.
Alexander was watching with his strange golden eyes that saw too much as he delivered his message.
"What do they say?" She wondered.
"They have contacted Damien." Cenric perked up at that. "He and his Luna are willing to host the two of you and assist with the Alpha's wolf." That golden gaze fell onto Cenric. Quinn felt relief flood her system. Good, there would be some help coming her way.
Over the past few days since the attack was successfully overcome Cenric had begun to lose control of his wolf again. According to the pack it was just a matter of time before he lost it on some poor pack member again. What bothered Quinn was that they all just seemed to be numb and accepting it.
Quinn had gone running with Cenric in the woods, sparring with him to work out his aggression but as powerful as Quinn was, she was no real match for Cenric and so he couldn't go all out with her or he would risk really hurting her and he refused to risk that, having grown more and more attached to her.
"Thank you Alexander. Would you and your brothers please be so kind as to run the pack while we go?"
"It is not necessary." Cenric's voice was barely more than a growl.
"It is very necessary." Quinn stated. Alexander moved out of the room to let Alpha and Luna talk to each other about the situation, his gaze knowing. Quinn straddled Cenric and kissed him gently on the lips. "I won't let you take this out on the pack anymore and I can't stop you at full power. But as the Luna it is my duty and honor to try to stop you."
He reached his hands up and pushed her hair out of her face, trailing his hands down her back to circle her waist.
"I would destroy you, little one, and when I came back to myself I would have lost my mate. If I lose it, stay out of the way, do not interfere."
"Surely you understand me enough by now to know that I would never not interfere to protect the pack. How could I not?" She asked.
"You are the Luna of all Lunas in my eyes. You would put your life on the line to protect them. But you would risk making me a monster for all eternity."
"That's worst case scenario. You heard Alexander, Damien is willing to help you."
"Yes, my old friend."
"Tell me about him?"
"Damien is my oldest friend and one of the only other ancients I have met. He is a hard male. He doesn't show emotion and he is supreme at controlling himself. I've yet to meet another wolf with anything close to that level of control. Last I heard he has a pack deep in the mountains of Russia, so that is where we would need to travel."
Quinn knew well that in their society an alpha pair that wasn't mated was often looked upon with some disdain. Yes, she and Cenric had mated in the biblical sense, but werewolves did not consider themselves mated until they were both marked, and she had yet to mark Cenric.
"How will they feel about us. We are not exactly traditional." She asked.
"That was your decision, my mate." He craned his neck to the side. "You can mark me whenever you choose to and complete the bond." Quinn leaned in and kissed the spot where she would one day mark him, but she kept her fangs out of the way completely.
"Not until you are in control and no longer a danger to your own pack. If I have to face you and I manage to take you down, I can't risk going mate sick. Too many would be relying on me. If you can get your wolf under control, then I will merge our packs and step down and be a proper Luna. Its called compromise." She murmured.
"I suppose your methods have some merit, but this division is not good for the pack."
"No it is isn't but its better then your wolf going nuts and you rage murdering pack members. The sooner you get you situation handled the sooner we can be properly mated, and the packs merged."
"Then we had best travel fast. What of the packs?"
"The triplets can handle the packs. They are powerful in their own rights and very capable. I know it's a hard time to be leaving in the wake of an attack on the pack by Drayven, but we need to handle things properly. No doubt word would have reached that Northern Alpha of Drayven's movements. If he's as vicious and royal and Alpha as Drayven claimed he was, then we would need to prepare for a possible visit."
"True. He would be foolish to not come and see for himself the state of things."
"And it would be best if we were a united front and at full strength when he arrives with his pack behind him, able and ready to defend our territory. Not to mention, there are some mercenary contracts that need seeing to and I prefer to go on those missions with the mercenary team. "
"Everything you say is true. I do not like to be unprepared for this Northern Ancient."
"Then lets go get you under control." He stared Quinn down with calculation in his eyes and finally he leaned in and kissed her gently.
"For you, my Mate. I will gain control of my wolf, and we will rule these two packs and this territory and we will uphold the old ways and continue in the traditions of your original pack." Quinn smiled and thought that finally, finally she had found her place in the world.
