Chapter 2

When Nunbyeol saw Nubi in Mugwang's arms, she stood up quickly from the chair, coming closer. I was holding Mubi and Mugi's hands, because Mugwang couldn't do it. Girls were still a little bit frightened, but they stopped sobbing which was relieving.

"What happened?" Nunbyeol asked suddenly, wiping Nubi's mouth by her sleeve. Mugwang looked at me quickly, wanting me to help with the answer. Unfortunately I wasn't able to say anything.

"Nothing special happened. Nubi ate few berries and felt worse, but now is everything alright. She feels great, right?" he asked. Girl nodded, hiding her face in his neck.

"Berries? But there aren't any berries" said Nunbyeol silently. I frowned, realising that it was really suspicious. Mugwang showed small fruits on his hand. He took them with himself. They were deadly and dangerous even for animals, not mentioning little kids.

"Why did you pick them up?" he asked.

"Auntie gave them to Nubi!" said suddenly Mubi, holding tighter my hand.

"Auntie? You mean, Chaeeun?"

"No! No auntie Chaeeun! That was a different auntie. She saw a big feather in Nubi's hands and she wanted to trade it for berries" she said. I froze suddenly. My feather? Why someone gave these poisonous berries to innocent girl?

Mugwang put carefully his daughter on the bed, drawing his sword with an anger on his face.

"What are you doing?" confused Nunbyeol asked him, still holding her belly as if their unborn son was trying to move.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm going to slay that bitch" he said furiously.

"Girls can hear you! Watch your mouth..."

He wanted to get out of the house, but I stopped him, grabbing his shirt on his back. He turned around with a loud sigh. That wasn't the brightest idea. He had no idea who was that mysterious woman. Girls didn't lie for sure, I knew it, but what was he planning to do? I was a guardian. I protected many people. Now I understood why I have fallen there. To save this family. If I wasn't there, Nunbyeol would give a birth to dead baby and they would lost Nubi. Who was next?

"Your son is kicking again" said suddenly Nunbyeol, grabbing her belly. She sat carefully on her bed, breathing deeply.

"Gosh, it's too early" Mugwang mumbled silently, sheathing the sword. He touched Nunbyeol's red cheeks, frowning. "You" he said suddenly, putting his hand on my arm. "It looks like you know something about sicknesses. Stay here with Nunbyeol and girls."

"What about you?" she asked. Mugwang forced a smile.

"I will come back with Chaeeun. She will help you" he said, leaning against her. He touched her face, kissing passionately her blue lips. I wanted to tell him that I will do what I can to help Nunbyeol and their son, but unfortunately due to punishment I wasn't able to do it. That was a really unusual family, but they loved each other so much.

Nunbyeol fell asleep, lying on the bed with girls by her side. I decided to get out of the house and look around to check is there wasn't anything suspicious or dangerous. I opened the wooden door with a silent creak, trying not to wake them up. Someone was there, hiding among trees and waiting patiently. Even now, being a fallen angel I was able to feel the scent of demon. It was really tempting and sweet which meant that it was a demoness.

Demonesses were the worst. Really clever and bright, they seduced perfectly their victims, especially men. I felt safe, even without my powers, but Mugwang was in a real danger. I was sure that she wanted to seduce him and ruin his family. She even tried to poison his little daughter.
