Mao Mao x Reader: The Knight with a Pure Heart

Hello Pure Heart Valley!!

You laid on the ground. You held  your sword in defense, still dripping with the warm blood of hundreds of fallen warriors. You held your side with your free hand, there was a life threatening gash on your side, it ached and the closest hospital had been blown to ashes in the wind. Along with every other building in the area.

You pushed yourself off the ground, pain shooting threw every bone and organ of your body. You looked around, as knights of every kind being slain left and right. Your Mother....Father.... Brothers and Sisters.... all slain before your very eyes. 

An unfamiliar knight pushes you to the ground, and uses his sword to pierce your flesh. You scream in agony. It went straight threw your hand and seeped into the ground below. You looked at his face threw tears, but his face was just an empty black mass and eyes with flames that look as if they came from hell. He pulled out a small bomb, attached it to your chest, and activated it. You heard laughs from every angle, and for some reason you couldn't move. 

You could hear the beeping of the bomb as time passed to 10 seconds left on the clock. You waited for the bomb to blow...... but it never came? You could still hear the clicking of the timer. Then you heard you father call your name.

"(Y/N)!! Time to get up!! Your not done with life yet!!". That was when you realized.....

You slowly opened your eyes and looked at the sunlight coming through your window. You groan at the thought of getting out of your nice warm bed, it displeased you greatly. Your father crashed right through your door with a fresh plate of waffles.

"Ahhhh, Young (Y/N)!! Get up!! Today is a great day to save the world from evil doers!! Hahahaha!!" 

You giggled at your fathers 'good morning' greeting. He did this every once in a while, but that didn't stop you from laughing at it every time. You realized that your alarm was still beeping as your father left. You looked at it for a second, then turned it off with a gloomy sigh. So, you get up, eat your delicious breakfast, get your armor on, and you head outside.

As you walk out, a clean breeze of air fills your lungs. It was peaceful. You saw all of your brothers and sisters standing in a line in front of your father and mother, you knew what today was. As you lined up with your siblings, your mother finally spoke up.

"Children.... you have come so far. From learning to walk, to learning to swing your very first sword... today is the day you will leave this house and make new lives for yourselves".

Yup... today was a holiday your family made up. Your family called it the 'butterflies beginning'. It was a holiday for young adults (like yourself) to descend from your parents homes and learn to live on your own. As you began to think about what your life would be like, your father began to speak.

"You shall journey forth and make your own adventure!! You will defend for yourself, make a home for yourself, make food for yourself, etc. And eventually someday, you will meet your partner for life and maybe even have children!!". Your brother started saying how gross it would be to have a mate, or even children, but you just continued to listen. 

Then your mother began to talk again. 

"You may begin to gather your belongings, then we will meet you outside once more, say your goodbyes, then you will be off on a new adventure!" 

You smiled, you had waited for this moment your entire life. Yes it was a scary feeling, leaving your childhood home and all of its memories. But you felt it was a good reminder of why you were leaving.... to make new memories!!

You continued to smile as you finished putting the rest of your stuff in your bag. You honestly didn't have a lot of belongings, being a knight meant you really didn't have a lot of other hobbies or toys even. But you did have some clothes, and some action figures you have from your favorite anime/show. You had a guitar, drumsticks and a picture of your entire family. All that was left in your room was your empty bed frame and a box of clothes you didn't want.

As you walked out of the house, your brothers and sisters were already saying goodbye to your mom and dad and to each other. You had your fair share of goodbyes and was about to leave when your mother and father pulled you aside.

"Young (Y/N)!! As much as we are pleased to see you all grown up and on your way, we still want you to keep a part of us with you where ever you go" your father stated trying not to cry.

"Here you are my sweet (Y/N)". Your mother handed you a folded piece of material. You unfolded it to find a beautiful pink and black cape. With your mind in shock and your jaw dropped, you quickly put it on and posed like a hero.

"I promise to wear this till I die" you said happily. Your mother went on about how it is able to turn into a pair of wings, which honestly you thought was cool. You hugged you parents tightly, said your final goodbyes, and walked off into the distance.

You looked at your map again and again, but you couldn't find where you were. Great.....you were lost. You begin to just walk forward when you see a shiny gate before you.

"Pure..Heart..Valley?" You said to yourself in confusion. Huh...definitely sounds friendly. You put your hood up just in case you needed to keep your identity. You open the gates, but it was silent, no one was roaming the streets. 'Bleh....must be a ghost town' you thought to yourself.

You saw a quick blueish-green blur zip right past you, this startled you and you pulled out your sword. You stood completely still, waiting for anymore movement. Your eyes zipped back and forth, waiting for anything....until.....

"HI!!!!" a voice said behind you. You could've sworn you jumped out of your skin. You turn around to face a cute yet dorky little frog. He was waving with his stubby little hands, and you saw a bunch of other adorable creatures popping up from behind stands, barrels, etc. 

You put your sword back and smile as a small mouse gives you a muffin, you bite into it and your mouth drooled.

"Cutiepies!! Stand down!!" You heard someone yell, they sound like a 'nice person' you thought sarcastically.

"Dude seriously, do we have to check every new person that comes in here?" Said another voice.

"Sorry Mao Mao, but I'm with Badgerclops on this one, everyone we've ever checked isn't a threat" this voice sounded feminine, but also like a child.

"Hey!!" The first voice yelled, "You can never be to safe!"

You turned to where the voices were coming from and saw a cat with a red cape, a badger with a robotic arm, and a blue bat. 

"See!! This guy already looks shady as it is!!" The black cat yelled.

"I don't know, man." The badger said as he took a bite out of a muffin. "It's not like we're gonna magically find a sword on them and- " "FOUND A SWORD!!!" The young bat screeched  and pointed at your side.

"Wow, look at me being wrong" the badger said as he ate the rest of his muffin.

"HAHA!! I told you badgerclops!" The cat said.

"Dude, seriously, get a hobby." The one known as badgerclops said.

"Mao Mao? Are we gonna use violence?" The young bat asked.

The one known as Mao Mao looked at you up and down.

"They haven't done anything wrong yet, but if they do they are getting locked up" Mao Mao said. 

"So we're cool here?" Badgerclops asked.

"Yeah, for now" Mao Mao said.

"Cool. Hey Adorabat? Wanna get some burritos or something?" Badgerclops asked to the young bat you guessed was Adorabat.

"Sure!! Hey Mystery person? Wanna get something to eat?" Adorabat asked you.

"ADORABAT!!!!!" Both Mao Mao and Badgerclops yelled. 

You put down your hood, revealing your face. They all stared at you in aw.

"My name is (Y/N), (Y/N) (L/N). And I would love to accompany you."
