Mao Mao x Reader: The Knight with a Pure Heart

Let's meet and greet!!

The young bat known as Adorabat whooped happily and flew onto badgerclops shoulder, earning a smile from him. Mao Mao rubbed his eyebrows and sighed.

"Adorabat... it is rude to ask someone to drop what they are doing and come with us". Adorabat looked at you with an 'I'm sorry' expression written on her face.

"Oh come on dude!" Badgerclops whined, "Adorabat was just trying to be nice and let....what was your name again? Umm...OH! (Y/N) come with us"

You shrugged. "Meh, I've honestly got nothing better to do. I'm on a little adventure right now, just going out into the world aimlessly. But I don't think it would hurt to sit down for a bit and grab a bite"  you said as your stomach grumbled in agreement.

Mao Mao's face lit up when he heard 'Adventure'. "AH! Well why didn't you say so?" He replied. "Here, I'll buy your food for you". This surprised you, and the others went wide eyed as well.

"Mao Mao? Are you feeling well?" Adorabat asked, with a bit of concern. Mao Mao raised an eyebrow. "What? Am I not allowed to be nice to another adventurer like myself?"

Badgerclops groaned in annoyance. "Ok, not to rush anyone with Mao Mao's weird mood change conversation. But I'm hungry, and need to stuff at least 14 burritos in my mouth, pronto"

You smiled at Badgerclop's love for food, but you couldn't blame him. Honestly the thought of a nice warm burrito makes your mouth water. 

Mao Mao rolled his eyes and was about to start walking when a lion dressed in fancy (yet weird) clothing, literally jumped out of no where and landed in front of all of you.

"Your Grace!!" Mao Mao started but was cut off by the lion.

"Ah! Sheriff Mao Mao, I am incredibly sorry to interrupt your daily duties, but I was just passing by when I noticed all of my 'Pure Heart citizens' were gathered at the entrance of the gate! So I decided to watch this little scene play out and I already love where this is heading, darling~" he purred as he looked at you.

"Well-", again Mao Mao was interrupted by the lion. "What is your name young one?" The lion looked at you with curiosity, but he seemed to be excited as well. "My name is (Y/N), your majesty" as you bowed in respect.

"Oh please dear! You may call me 'King Snugglemane the 25th" he stated happily. Ummmmmm....... you definitely weren't going to say that every time. 

"Do you mind if I call you 'king snuggles'? It will make it easier to remember" you asked. Honestly, you had a pretty good memory, you were just looking for an excuse not to repetitively say that.

"Oh, that is quite alright dear!" He smiled at you, and you smiled back. "Oh, silly me! I almost forgot. I was going to ask if you wanted to dine with me tonight! Seeing how you all were off to eat some burritos or something" he laughed to himself.

It was Bagdgerclop's turn to pitch in. "Aw heck yeah, dude! Royal food is always the best! I'm in!". "What food isn't the best to him?" You thought trying not to laugh.

"I WANT TO HAVE MARSHMALLOWS!!" Adorabat screeched. Mao Mao grumbled.

"Adorabat we have went over this multiple times this month! Candy is not a meal!!" Mao Mao yelled and pointed at a random cutiepie in the village eating a bag of candy by the fountain.

You snickered. "Since all of us decided to agree...and I'm sure we don't have to much of a choice.... we will all accompany you, your grace" Mao Mao said and bowed respectfully.

King snuggles jumped up and down while clapping his hands together. "Wonderful! Just Wonderful! Come with me! I will happily escort you to my castle!" Honestly you really didn't need to be shown the way to the castle, it was huge and in sight. Plus it only took about twenty feet just to get there, but you let him do as he pleased and followed him.

Once you were inside the kings castle, shiny decorations and bright lights caught you eyes. In front of you all, was a long table of different foods and had about 5-6 seats.

You looked at the table, it reminded you of the memories you had when you were still a child with your family. Your brothers always started smearing condiments onto each other then would get yelled at by your mother to get themselves cleaned up. The memories made you smile.

"(Y/N)!! Oh dear me! You suddenly started to blank out!" You were cut out of your memory by king snuggles, everyone was looking at you.

You blushed a little. "Sorry snuggles, I just remembered something when I looked at your table.... anyway, what did you need?"

King snuggles laughed at your honesty, but continued. "Ah honey, you shouldn't be wearing armor at a table...it's not proper. However I do have some clothes you can wear when we eat. I shall take you to my dress room and you can pick out something nice to wear." You nodded, you probably should. You were always taught to wear something nice at someone else's place for dinner, so this wasn't any news to you.

King snuggles giggled with delight. "Oh goodie!" He grabbed your arm and started dragging you to his dressing room. "Oh, and Badgerclops? Please make everyone look nice!" And with that you both left as Badgerclops started to tackle Mao Mao.

"Oh! How about this young (Y/N)?" King snuggles held up a grey dress with a flower on the chest of it. It was a bit more..........revealing, than you would like. You shook your head no and looked around and spotted a pink and white dress with a heart on it. You smiled. It was a bit shorter than you wanted but it worked. 

Once you tried it on, King snuggles looked at you with astonishment. "Wonderful Darling!! Wonderful!!" He clapped his hands together. "I haven't been able to wear that in ages, and it definitely looks better on you than it ever did on me!! Which is saying a lot because I look good in everything" he proudly posed.

You rolled you eyes and smiled. "Thank you" you happily said. "No, thank you! I haven't wore that in ages and it is finally being worn by someone just a beautiful as me! As a matter a fact, you can keep it!".

Before you were able to properly thank him, he picked you up and smiled brightly. "Now young (Y/N) let's go eat before Badgerclops starts to go nuts".

As you return to the dining area, Badgerclops was tying a bow around a very annoyed looking Mao Mao.

"Aw, come on Mao Mao, it isn't that bad!" Adorabat tried complementing. Mao Mao rolled his eyes, until he finally saw you. Seeing you in such a beautiful dress made him feel something different, but he doesn't know what this is....yet. Adorabat screeched and flew quickly at you and cling herself to your face.

"You....look...AMAZING!.." she slowly said with a bit of intensity in her voice. "Thank you...now shall we?" You said and turned to Mao Mao and the king.  Mao Mao was still staring, blush covering his cheeks, but managed to say.....

"We shall!"

Well...here we are, part two! Sorry it took longer than I wanted, I was planning on publishing it yesterday, but I got busy and I needed to make some art for it, which also took a crap ton of time. Even though my art is literal garbage. But thank you for taking the time to read my 'Mao Mao x reader'. I am planning to make part 3 tomorrow.....stay tuned.
