-*-Christmas Eve-*-

"Jenn, you said this place was easy to get to!" Exhaustion was taking over now. We'd walked for what felt like miles and still hadn't reached this bloody cabin! I know it was remote but this was taking the piss. I was a few steps ahead of her and heard her weak reply.

"The others reached it no bother." She mumbled, her breath coming out in white clouds, freezing the second it hit the cold air.

"Yes, and that was before there was more snow!" I shouted back at her, turning to face her. She stood stock still, the snow halfway up her boots and her reddened nose peeking out the top of her scarf. Her eyes widened and she stared straight past me, an arm extending and pointing over my shoulder. "We made it." She sighed, relief evident.

"We - wait, what?" I asked, turning to follow the direction her finger was pointing, never being so glad to see a building in my life. It was beautiful. Our cabin was just visible over the brow of a small hill. The massive windows coming to a peak that was covered in fresh snow. It looked like something from a postcard. The others were clearly inside, the warm soft glow of light pouring out, illuminating the hillside. A gentle plume of smoke freeing itself from the chimney. It looked warm and inviting and I wanted to be there. Now.

A short trek and a few minutes later, Jenn and I stumbled in through the door, throwing our bags onto the hallway floor before being greeted by Emma. "You made it!" She shrieked, pulling us into a rather sloppy hug while taking care no to spill the contents of the wine glass that was in her hand. "I was beginning to think you weren't -hic- coming." She swayed gently as she spoke - clearly she'd started her celebrations early.

Seconds later I heard footsteps on the wooden floor, coming closer to us. "Sorry, she's had a few too many." A deep, smooth voice spoke taking my attention away from Emma.

He put his hands on her shoulders, gently turning her round and ushering her to another room, "Come on you, let's get you to the couch." He guided her through, I could hear her trying to fight him off.

Jenn and I were taking our coats off when he returned to the hall. "Sorry, that was rude of me. I'm Tom, Emma's brother." He stuck his hand out for me to shake.

He was gorgeous!

I shook his hand, its vast size dwarfing mine. Looking up at him, I got a bit lost. His jaw was gorgeously defined and strong. His cheekbones looked razor sharp and his eyes were the most amazing colour of blue I'd ever seen. I'm pretty sure they changed colour everytime he blinked. Each action revealing another deeper, purer blue.

"Oof!" The air rushed out of my mouth and my hand flew to my ribs, trying to compensate for the blow they'd just taken. I turned to look at the culprit and was faced with Jenn, a "What the fuck?!" look on her face. She nodded towards Tom and at that moment I realised that I was still holding onto his hand. I also realised that I hadn't heard a word of what he'd been saying.

Well. I did say he was gorgeous. He stood staring at me, his eyebrow raised and a small smirk running over his lips.

Trying my best to pull myself out of this wonderful daydream, I tried to regain any dignity I had left. "It's, uh, it's lovely to meet you Tim, TOM! TOM!" My head fell and my hand slapped itself against my face. 'Way to go doofus!' My head screamed at me, 'Now he thinks you're a total loon, great first impression to make!'

Tom cleared his throat. "I uh, I hope you all don't mind me tagging along." He rubbed the back of his neck as he spoke, his long fingers distracting me - again. "It's just Emma said there was a space and, I've been working a lot lately and, yeah." He trailed off, trying his best to clear the awkwardness that now hung over us. Bless him.

"Why don't we go unpack and we'll meet you all in the living room in about 10 minutes." Jenn chirped up from behind me, desparate to get me out of here before I made even more of an idiot of myself. I silently thanked her for butting in.

"Of course, follow me." He leant down and picked up our bags with ease, I couldn't help but watch his arms as they carried the heavy bags, watching the muscles move with every step he took. Walking down a long corridor that was home to all of the bedrooms, he walked right to the end before stopping.

"Theses are the only 2 rooms left, I'll leave it to you two to fight it out." He laughed gently as he set our bags down at our feet. "Make sure you come back soon, there's still a tree to decorate in the living room." A big, bright grin hit his face and his eyes lit up like he was a small child again, the excitement of decorating the tree radiating from him. He turned and walked back down the corridor before disappearing into the living room and out of sight.

"You're an idiot." Jenn spoke plainly, shaking her head and opening the door nearest her. A deep sigh made its way out as I leaned down to grab my bag, turning the handle nearest to me and slowly opening the door, wanting just to rest for a few minutes.

So, yeah, I've decided Rose is a bit of a klutz lol. She's met Tom, or is it Tim, and made a total twat of herself...

Hope you like it, it's making me feel very Christmassy writing this :D

Big love

xoxo

P.S. How gorgeous is that cabin?!
