"Giselle!"

"Yeah?!" Beyoncé shouts back.

"Where are you?!" She could hear her the excitement in her best friends voice.

"I'm in my room." She replies with a small laugh.

"Oh my fuck! We got our letters!" Nicki screams, the excitement still in her voice as she bursts through the door with two envelopes in each hand.

Bey jumped up from the bed, her heart beat quickening.

With shaky hands she examined the front of the envelope that had her name and their address in the middle. She looked at her best friend and nodded her head. Both girls opened their letters and unfolded the piece of paper.

Nicki quickly gripped onto Beyoncé's hand before they had the chance to read what it said.

Ms. Knowles,
Congratulations! It gives me tremendous pleasure to inform you that the Juilliard Dance faculty has selected you to join us for the Bachelor of Fine Arts program!

Bey stopped reading after the second sentence as her eyes watered.

Ms. Maraj,
Congratulations! On behalf of the Composition faculty, we are excited to inform you that you've been selected to join us in our Bachelor of Music program!

Nicki, like Bey, stopped reading after that sentence.

Both girls looked at each other with happy tears in their eyes before fear took over, realizing they were both unaware of the others letter and what it said.

"I... I got in." Nicki choked out quietly.

"Me too." Bey said with a wide smile, the tears still at bay.

"We're going to Julliard." Bey said quietly as the shock began to wear off.

"We got into muthafuckin Julliard!" Nicki screamed while jumping into Beyoncé's arms. Bey giggled as she hugged her best friend tightly and spun her around. "We're going to New York!"

And just like that Beyoncé's heart stopped and the excitement switched to anxiety. She set Nicki down on her feet, her emotions showing on her face.

Without Bey even having to say anything, Nicki already knew the reason for the quick mood change. "Bey, it's a big place. I'm sure you won't run into her." Bey looked at her with sad eyes.

"Its not that big..." Bey said softly before sitting down on their couch.

Nicki squatted down in front of her, placing her hands on Beyoncé's knees.

"Maybe..." Nicki bit her tongue and quit talking, making Bey's eyes snap up to her.

"What?" Nicki shook her head, worried she'd upset her best friend. "What Nick?"

"Maybe you should talk to her." Bey scoffed before shaking her head. "Its been two years, Bey... maybe this is a sign that you should reach out and talk."

"Exactly, Nick. Its been two years. No need to drudge up old shit."

"You guys weren't just some small ass fling, Bey. You two were in love w-"

"She wasn't in love with me, Oni."

"Yes she was." Nicki quickly defended. "And she still is. What y'all had was serious, Bey, and you can't down play that shit." Bey always hated when Nicki was right, but she especially hated it right now.

"We need to start getting all our shit figured out now, so we're not scrambling in August." Nicki frowns softly but nods her head, understanding Bey being ready to end that topic.
