Chapter 12

I woke up by the sun killing my eyes. I changed into a pair of black comfy leggings and a dark blue t-shirt with low back. I went to the kitchen only to see Bruce and the others.

- Good morning Bella. Bruce said followed by all the other guys.

- Good morning. Alfred laid down the plate of food in front of me.

- I hope the boys are behaving well? He asked looking at Jay but I looked from the corner of my eye at Damian but then quickly looked back at Bruce.

- Sure, they are! I said hoping that was the answer he wanted to hear.

- I'm glad to hear, well I'm going to take care of some business so if there is anything you need tell Alfred. He said while he tied his blue tie and disappeared. By that time I had already finished my food. I looked over to Grayson with a smirk plastered on my face.

- So, how is it going with you and Kori? He looked slightly shocked as he struggled to swallow his food.

- How did you know? He asked while sipping on his coffee. I could feel everyone staring at me.

- It was pretty much expected, you two are made for eachother. I told him with a smile or more likely a smirk. I drank up all my orange juice.

- So what are we going to do today...I'm so bored! Damian said with a tone that was dripping with boredom as he stretched out his arms. His muscles tensed and I couldn't help but absorb the view. I then quickly turned my gaze away looking down at my empty plate with a flustered face.

- I actually made some research on the fingerprints we found on the knife at the crime scene. Said Tim with a concern in his eyes as he scanned our faces for our reactions. All of us were alert all of a sudden waiting.

- Finally, some action today! Screamed Damian in excitement while his fist met his palm.

- Don't get too happy, the only thing I have is that he is called The Black Phantom. No one has ever seen him and he doesn't have any background. I sighted. Well this is still something.

- Well that sucks! Ugh Jayson with his language issues. I watched as everyone left to mind their own business except Damian. Suddenly the events from last night hit me like a train and ran over my body leaving me cold.

- About yesterday night...I started to talk as I got up from my chair, but suddenly felt a pair of arms around my body. My eyes beamed open in shock. I even think I must have stopped breathing. I looked up only to see Damian. His arms were wrapped around my waist, when I got out of my shooked state I started to hug him back. It felt so good...seems like the devil has a soft side too. All the reasons I had to dislike him, all the times he hurt me everything.... just fell to the ground as I was somewhere entirely else with my mind. Those felt like distant blurry memories. The smell of fresh mint intoxicated my lungs and made me delirious. I took a deep breath as I rested my head on his chest not wanting to let this moment go.

- Awww Damian and Bella sitting in a tree! I saw Jayson at the entrance of the kitchen and I immediately let go of him as I blushed deeper than the sea. I saw him chuckling with his phone in his hand as he ran a hand through his hair.

- You're dead! Damian screamed as he started to run after him. I just stood there with a smile still trying to process what happened.

- But this picture of you two is so cute I have to show it to Bruce and Tim. I heard Jason teasing Damian as they ran through the halls. I started to giggle as I went to Tim's room.

Alfred's Pov

- Master Bruce, it seems that the boys are enjoying miss Bella's company a lot. I happened to see Damian embracing miss Bella today. I saw master Bruce using a towel to dry his wet hair.

- I'm glad that she has a positive influence on them....and I'm happy that Damian starts to open up more, maybe he'll start acting more alike his age. He told me as I packed his case for work.

Bella's Pov

I knocked on the door waiting for a response. The door slowly opened revealing Tim.

- Come in! He said with a big smile as I went in and he closed the door. That's when I realised he was shirtless and it revealed his six pack. A blush spread on my cheeks as I stare at the ground until he put a shirt on.

- How do you feel Bella..I heard Jay and Damian screaming in the hall. You don't happen to know what that was about do you? He asked with a smile on his face.

- I'm great and noup. I said lying about the last part trying to be as innocent as possible. The hug Damian gave me came back to my mind, his warm body against mine. My cheeks turned red again.

- Do you want to go out and eat? Tim asked while he folded some of his clothes. He's room is so messy, wonder how he can be the smart one and have such a mess everywhere. He is the one that is supposed to be organized.

- Umm, sure. But where?

- The pizza place. We took the normal car to the pizza place.

Time skip (At home again)

I entered the door with Tim behind me. I took of my black boots and saw Damian with Grayson in the living room watching tv.

- Hi guys. Where have you been, I haven't seen you like all day? Asked Grayson with a smirk on his face probably thinking something that was very far from what we did today.

- Eating pizza. Tim answered plainly. Grayson looked mad or offended as he got up from the sofa.

- Without us!! You are a bastard! That made me giggle.

- Guys, I'm going to sleep. I told them while I softly rubbed my eyes.

- Good night Bella! Said Grayson with a soft voice.

- Night! Said Tim as I started to walk towards my room with Damian walking behind me. Weird, but I didn't stop walking.

- Whats up? He asked with a more normal tone as he catched up to me.

- Well good I guess. I said avoiding eye contact, trying not to blush. We walked into my room as I sat on my bed. I saw him walking towards my costume that was currently lying on my desktop. My eyes widened and I stood up so quickly I almost stumbled on my own feet when I saw him reaching out his hand to touch my suit.

- Nooo....ohh you shouldn't have touched it. I saw Damian fall to the ground on his back from the electric shock as he groaned in pain.

- Ah...your halloween costume isn't that....bad. He said clearly in some pain. I quickly ran towards him were he was lying on the floor. I reached out a hand for him to take but he grabbed it and pulled me so I fell on the ground on top of him. My eyes met his and I blushed instantly as he smirked. Our faces were only inches away. My heart wanted to get out of my chest and run away from this sight. I have never seen this side of him and I've definitely never been more close to his face than now. I got up from that position as I saw Damian do the same.

- Come on now..Damian said as he picked me up bridal style.

- Wait, what are you doing!?? He didn't answer he just walked over to my bed. My face was red and my thoughts tangled in themselves as I tried to cling to the little sanity and dignity I had left at this moment.

- Small babies like you need sleep. He said as he laid me down and tucked me in. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding as I came back to reality.

- Yeah. I said tiredly as I rubbed my eyes.

- Wait, what did you just call me?!! I'm not a ... He put a finger over my mouth.

- Shhhh...goodnight Bella. He said as he kissed me on my forehead. My protests and well made arguments fell dead in my mouth as I swallowed them back. Why is he so complicated, so complex, so lovely.

- Good night Damian. I gave him a hug and then I saw him disappear behind the door. When the butterflies from my stomach finally cooled down, my eyelids started to feel so heavy that I couldn't hold back anymore. Then everything went black and I fell asleep...
