7. Tʜᴇ Sᴡᴇᴇᴛ Eɴᴅ

"Yeah, that was the most memorable ever." Naruto commented with a smile.

"When did Akane-san liked Gaara-san?" Sai asked. Sai was considered the temporary replacement of Sasuke in Team 7. He was a ROOT ANBU sent by Danzo, a war freak of Konohagakure Ninja Council. The ROOT ANBU was considered more darker than a regular ANBU working for the Hokage. The ROOT ANBU was an organization the Fourth Hokage disbanded for the ROOT organization run a darker side in the Shinobi World. When the Fourth Hokage died, the ROOT decided to run in the shadows with no one knowing but of course, it was Danzo who was running the ROOT organization.

Sai was a member of the ROOT, who does not know the ways of using emotions. Everyone looked at each other to see if their assumptions was right.

"When we were Genins. Back in the Preliminary Rounds of the Chunin Exams." Sakura replied. The others nodded.

"That early?" Sai asked surprised.

"It was her red scarf's fault. Since a sudden breeze blew in and tore her scarf off her neckerchief and landed by Gaara that time." Kakashi explained making everyone nodded.

"That is.." Sai trailed off softly.

"Call it the Red String of Fate, Sai-san." a soft yet weak voice spoke up. Gaara looked down in surprise seeing Akane's beautiful crimson eyes again.

"AKANE!" they all exclaimed happily making Akane giggle softly yet weakly due to her pains and herself needed a oxygen mask.

"Welcome back, imoto-chan" Naruto said grinning as Akane smiled at Naruto before looking at Gaara, gently squeezing his hand in hers. Gaara returned the gesture as well.

"How is everyone?" Akane asks softly.

"You should worry about yourself, Akane. You took it worse than us." Sasuke said sincerely. Akane chuckled softly and nodded slightly.

"I will, Sasu-nii." Akane said softly and as she tried to sit up, Gaara had to push her down gently.

"Rest, love." Gaara said sternly as Tsunade and the others nodded.

"We'll handle it here." Naruto said sincerely as Akane sighed softly and got comfortable on the bed.

"Come on, let's leave them alone." Asuma spoke leading everyone out. As everyone left. Gaara looked down at Akane before resting his forehead against hers.

"Dont. Ever. Scare me like that again, love." Gaara said sternly as Akane gave a sheepish smile.

"I'm sorry, love." Akane said sincerely.

"I thought you would die.."

"Gaa-"

"When Sakura-san and Tsunade-sama said the cure might take too long to make I thought you would leave." he said softly. The ravenette froze feeling tears graze her cheek as her crimson eyes looked up, she saw tears blurring the emerald eyes she fell in love with.

"I'm sorry, Gaara-kun." Akane said sincerely as she reached a free hand to wipe his tears away. Gaara leaned into her palm softly before hugging her softly as she laid on the bed. Akane closed her eyes softly as she hugged him back.

This relationship between Gaara and Akane made the union between Konohagakure and Sunagakure even stronger than ever. They know this will a last time as long as they are together, nothing can get in between the Crimson and Emerald Eyes of Love.
